BISE announces Matric results with 72.65pc passing rate

MULTAN, Aug 06 (APP): The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Thursday announced the results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2026, with an overall pass percentage of 72.65 as 96,638 out of 133,019 candidates successfully cleared the examination.

The results were officially released at a ceremony held at the Board Office, where Punjab Assembly member Salman Naeem, BISE Multan Chairman Dr Ijaz Ahmad and Secretary Khurram Shehzad Qureshi jointly launched the results online by pressing a computer button.

According to the announced statistics, the Science Group recorded a 73.84 per cent pass rate, with 88,307 candidates passing out of 119,590 who appeared in the examination. The Humanities Group posted a 61.57 per cent success rate, as 8,163 out of 13,258 candidates qualified.

The results also showed that female students once again outperformed their male counterparts. Girls achieved a 78.70 per cent pass rate, while the success ratio among boys stood at 66.41 per cent.

Special (Deaf and Dumb) candidates demonstrated outstanding performance, registering a 98.25 per cent pass rate, with 168 out of 171 candidates declared successful.

District-wise, Vehari secured the highest pass percentage at 73.74 per cent, followed by Multan with 72.76 per cent, Khanewal with 72.74 per cent, and Lodhran with 69.73 per cent.

Speaking on the occasion, MPA Salman Naeem congratulated the successful students and their parents, saying that quality education was the foundation of a developed society. He said the Punjab government was taking practical measures to promote education and provide better facilities to students, adding that the country’s youth represented its bright future.

BISE Multan Chairman Dr Ijaz Ahmad said the examination process had been completed with complete transparency, merit and the use of modern technology. He appreciated the services of board officials, examination staff and teachers, and commended the hard work of students and the guidance provided by teachers. He urged the successful candidates to continue striving for excellence in their future academic pursuits.

BISE Secretary Khurram Shahzad Qureshi said timely compilation and online publication of the results had been ensured to facilitate students. He added that the modern digital system had helped maintain transparency and accuracy in the result preparation process.
