SARGODHA, Jul 18 (APP): A belt promotion ceremony of players of the Karate Academy University of Sargodha was held at the Sports Gymnasium with the collaboration of the District Sports Department, where players received belts and certificates for their achievements.
Chairman Education Board Sargodha Abbas Haider Gondal, Secretary Education Board Syed Abul Hassan Naqvi and District Sports Officer Saima Manzoor attended the ceremony as special guests. Coach Muhammad Naeem Khan and Women Coach Afsha Muhammad Deen welcomed the guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Abbas Haider Gondal appreciated the academy for promoting sports and said karate helps develop physical fitness, discipline, self-confidence and defensive skills. He urged parents to encourage children to participate in sports activities.
District Sports Officer Saima Manzoor said efforts were being made to promote sports facilities, adding that sports played an important role alongside education in developing a healthy mind and body.
During the ceremony, karate players showcased their skills through demonstrations, including defensive techniques, tile breaking and other performances, which were appreciated by the audience.
Coach Muhammad Naeem Khan thanked the guests and participants, saying the academy would continue organizing training programmes to promote sports and prepare talented players for national and international competitions.
