Bangladeshi delegation visits PSCA, lauds modern policing system

LAHORE, May 13 (APP): A 20-member delegation of senior civil service officers from Bangladesh visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) and appreciated its modern policing, digital surveillance and emergency response systems.

The delegation, comprising additional secretaries, joint secretaries and other senior officials, was received by Managing Director PSCA Muhammad Ahsan Younas and Chief Operating Officer Muntansar Feroze, who also briefed the visitors on various operational departments of the authority.

According to a PSCA spokesperson, the delegation was given a detailed briefing on the authority’s advanced security system, artificial intelligence, smart surveillance and integrated security mechanisms.

The visiting officials observed the monitoring system and emergency response operations at smart safe city centres established in Lahore and other cities through modern camera networks.

The delegation was also briefed on the operational mechanisms of Emergency Helpline-15, Virtual Women Police Station, Virtual Centre for Child Safety and Virtual Blood Bank.

Officials further informed the delegation about the advanced features of the Safe City Public Safety App, Women Safety App and Next Generation Safety App.

During the briefing, the delegation was told that the PSCA was playing a vital role in ensuring public safety, traffic management and crime prevention through modern technology.

The officials added that after expanding the Safe City project across Punjab, efforts were under way to extend the system to tehsil level as well.

The delegation also expressed keen interest in enhancing mutual cooperation in the fields of public safety and effective use of technology.

At the conclusion of the visit, honorary shields were presented to the members of the Bangladeshi delegation by the PSCA.
