Azma warns India against any misadventure, urges peace in region

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari on Thursday strongly criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, warning India against any form of adventurism against Pakistan and asserting that the country would respond firmly to any aggression.

LAHORE, May 07 (APP): Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari on Thursday strongly criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, warning India against any form of adventurism against Pakistan and asserting that the country would respond firmly to any aggression.
In a statement issued here, Azma Bokhari said India should abandon its aggressive designs against Pakistan, adding that New Delhi had already faced repeated setbacks in the past. Addressing the Indian leadership, she remarked that instead of pursuing hostile policies, India should focus its energies on constructive measures.
Referring to the water dispute between the two countries, the provincial minister claimed that India had to retreat after Pakistan presented a clear and firm stance on the issue. She stated that following Pakistan’s strong warning, India opened the gates of the Baglihar Dam, which according to her reflected the effectiveness of Pakistan’s position and response.
Commenting on bilateral tensions, Azma Bokhari said the effects of Pakistan’s strong responses in the past were still being felt by India. She warned that if India attempted any further misadventure, it would face an even stronger reaction from Pakistan.
The minister said that India had lost the capability to compete with Pakistan in practical terms and was instead trying to hide its failures through anti-Pakistan films and propaganda.
She also remarked that Pakistan would no longer take what she termed India’s hollow threats seriously and would instead treat them merely as material for memes.
Speaking about the broader regional situation, Azma Bokhari stressed that wars were not a sustainable solution to any problem. Expressing concern over rising tensions between Iran and the United States, she said Pakistan desired an immediate end to the conflict and emphasized that the region could not afford further instability and war.
She urged global powers to demonstrate wisdom and restraint in order to maintain peace and stability in the region.
