According to police sources, the suspect, identified as Abu Bakar, was taken into custody following an investigation into a Facebook post allegedly uploaded from an account operating under the name “Bakir Khan Alizai.” Authorities said the content came to the attention of law enforcement during routine monitoring and was subsequently examined by investigators.
The First Information Report (FIR) was registered at Hazro Police Station on the complaint of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Arslan. Police alleged that the material contained derogatory remarks targeting national institutions and was intended to spread hatred and create negative sentiment among members of the public.
Officials said the case has been registered under Section 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with statements conducive to public mischief, along with other relevant legal provisions cited in the FIR. The accused remains in police custody, while investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the case and any potential legal implications arising from the alleged post.
