ATC awards eight years imprisonment to accused in explosives case

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday sentenced a member of a banned organization to eight years’ rigorous imprisonment in a case involving the recovery of explosive materials.

LAHORE, Jun 29 (APP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday sentenced a member of a banned organization to eight years’ rigorous imprisonment in a case involving the recovery of explosive materials.
ATC Judge Shahid Sikandar announced the verdict after the accused, Sakhi Zaman, was produced before the court. The court convicted him in the explosives recovery case and awarded him eight years of rigorous imprisonment.
The court also ordered the confiscation of all movable and immovable properties owned by the convict in favour of the state.
According to the prosecution, Sakhi Zaman is affiliated with a proscribed organization and was arrested after explosive materials were recovered from his possession. The prosecution further maintained that the accused was involved in terrorist activities.
The case was registered by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Lahore, in 2025.
