RAWALPINDI, Aug 18 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir and City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera jointly chaired a high-level meeting to review security, traffic and administrative preparations for 12th Rabi-ul-Awal (Eid Milad-un-Nabi PBUH) processions.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of procession routes, security protocols, traffic diversion plans, sanitation, removal of encroachments, street lighting and emergency rescue services was conducted.
Representatives from Milad committees offered suggestions to streamline field coordination, while administrative departments briefed the chair on their respective action plans.
Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir directed all line departments to complete preparations well ahead of time, ensuring proper sanitation, operational streetlights, and traffic management along procession routes. Appreciating the role of civic bodies, police, peace committees, and religious scholars in maintaining peace during Muharram-ul-Haram, DC Nasir expressed confidence that the same spirit of unity, religious harmony and mutual respect will prevail through Rabi-ul-Awal. He urged organizers to adhere strictly to designated routes and regulatory guidelines.
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera assured the forum that foolproof security measures would be deployed for all 12th Rabi-ul-Awal processions and religious gatherings, commending the constructive role played by scholars of all schools of thought in preserving public peace.
The meeting was attended by members of the District Peace Committee, heads of Milad committees, procession organizers, stage holders, Assistant Commissioners, and officers from the police, Rescue 1122, Traffic Police, and municipal agencies.
The participants reaffirmed their collective commitment to ensuring seamless execution, peace, and brotherhood across Rawalpindi district during the sacred observances.
