Anti-polio drive: arrangement for vaccination process reviewed

BAHAWALPUR, Sep 12 (APP):A review meeting on the arrangements and preparations for the anti-polio drive was
held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza here.
During the meeting, Chief Executive Officer Health Dr Zeeshan briefed participants on
the arrangements, team deployment, and targets for the four-day National Polio
Eradication Campaign, which will run from September 21 to 24, 2026.
The meeting was informed that the district has set a target of administering polio vaccine
drops to 505,000 children under the age of five during the campaign.
Mobile polio teams will conduct door-to-door visits to vaccinate children, while fixed teams
will administer vaccine doses at designated vaccination centers. A total of 1,975 mobile teams
and 89 fixed teams will participate in the campaign. In addition, 402 area in-charges and 75 union council monitoring officers will supervise and monitor field operations.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza directed all relevant departments and field teams to work in close coordination and ensure full support for vaccination teams. He emphasized the need for effective monitoring and instructed officials to continuously verify the field presence of vaccination teams.
