FAISALABAD, Jul 29 (APP): The district administration has intensified anti-dengue surveillance keeping in view the current monsoon, a most favorable season for its breeding.
In this regard, a meeting was held with Deputy Commissioner Noman Siddique in the chair on Wednesday, in which a detailed review of the current situation of dengue, surveillance and preventive measures was discussed.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners, Health Department and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the risk of dengue larvae breeding increases during monsoon, so all departments should be on high alert. He said that water should not accumulate at any place after rain and directed staff to inspect hotspots, junkyards, tire shops and under-construction buildings. He said that anti-dengue teams should remain active in the field and submit surveillance reports on a daily basis. Any negligence or carelessness in field activities will not be tolerated, he warned.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged the citizens to take precautionary measures during the monsoon season, keep the roofs of their houses, pots, water containers and tanks clean.
