GUJRAT, Sep 09 (APP):Anti-dengue surveillance activities are on-going across the district to prevent mosquito breeding and curb the spread of dengue.

According to a spokesperson here on Wednesday, on the directions of Chief Executive Officer, District Health Authority, Dr. Syed Aitizaz Ahmed, the teams inspected houses, shops, under-construction buildings and other potential dengue hotspots in different areas of the district.

The teams checked for dengue larvae and sensitized citizens about cleanliness and preventive measures to prevent mosquito breeding.

Health officials urged citizens to avoid stagnant water in and around their homes, keep water containers properly covered and immediately report potential dengue breeding sites to the relevant authorities.

They also advised residents to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and adopt precautionary measures to protect themselves from dengue.
