ANF seizes over 20 kg of drugs in six operations, arrests five

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday conducted six operations in different parts of the country and arrested five suspects, including an Afghan national, recovering 20.16 kg of drugs worth over Rs 4.6 million.

RAWALPINDI, Aug 25 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday conducted six operations in different parts of the country and arrested five suspects, including an Afghan national, recovering 20.16 kg of drugs worth over Rs 4.6 million.
According to an ANF spokesman, in three international interdiction operations, officers recovered 2.83 kg and 2.42 kg of ice from clothes concealed in the baggage of two passengers travelling to Jeddah from Islamabad Airport.
In another operation at a courier office in Karachi, ANF recovered 400 grams of ice from a laptop bag in a parcel destined for the United Kingdom.
During inter-provincial operations, ANF officials recovered 6 kg of hashish concealed in five hot pots from an Afghan national near Ravi Toll Plaza, Lahore.
Near Ghazi Ghat Toll Plaza, 5 kg of ice and 1.11 kg of weed were recovered from a truck, and a suspect was arrested.
Another 2.4 kg of hashish was recovered from a suspect near Islamabad Toll Plaza.
Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigation is underway.
