ANF seizes over 174kg of drugs in seven nationwide operations
RAWALPINDI, Aug 22 (APP):Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has conducted seven operations in different parts of the country, arresting seven suspected drug suppliers and recovering 174.82 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs 38.3 million.
In an international drug interdiction operation, ANF officials recovered 228 grams of ice (crystal methamphetamine) from clothes concealed inside a parcel at a courier office in Faisalabad. The parcel was destined for Bahrain.
During domestic operations, ANF personnel seized 125 kg of ice from a truck near Turbat in District Kech and arrested two suppliers.
In Lahore, authorities recovered 10.8kg of hashish from a rickshaw and a house near a housing society on GT Road and arrested a suspect. In another operation in the city, four kg of ice was recovered from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
In Karachi, ANF officials recovered 12 kg of hashish concealed in bushes near the Northern Bypass.
Under its inter-provincial drug interdiction drive, ANF recovered 16.8kg of hashish from a vehicle near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Islamabad and arrested the accused. Separately, 6kg of hashish was seized from a motorcyclist near Hazro Toll Plaza in Attock.
Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997 and further investigations are underway.
