RAWALPINDI, Mar 11 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested six suspects, including a woman, and seized more than 36 kilograms of narcotics worth over Rs2.9 million in seven operations conducted around educational institutions and in several cities across the country, an ANF spokesman said on Wednesday.
Near a college in Karachi’s Korangi area, ANF recovered 3.25 kilograms of hashish from two suspects who later admitted supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
In Rawalpindi, officials intercepted a parcel at a courier office in Chaklala Garrison and recovered 10 grams of cannabis concealed inside a chocolate box sent from the United Kingdom.
Separately, ANF seized 20 kilograms of hashish from a truck near Hub Toll Plaza in Karachi and arrested the suspect.
In Lahore, 7.2 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a bus near the city’s bus terminal.
Another operation near Sakhi Sarwar Road in Dera Ghazi Khan led to the seizure of 2 kilograms of hashish from a suspect.
Two operations in Quetta resulted in the recovery of 2 kilograms of methamphetamine (ice) from a woman near the Saryab Road bus terminal and 2,650 suspected tablets weighing about 1.9 kilograms from a suspect near Kuchlak Bypass.
Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and investigations are continuing, the spokesman said.
