ANF arrests 12 suspects, seizes over 102 kg of narcotics in nationwide operations

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted nine operations across the country on Monday and arrested 12 suspects, including two women, and seized 102.848 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics valued at more than Rs 11.1 million.

RAWALPINDI, Jun 22 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted nine operations across the country on Monday and arrested 12 suspects, including two women, and seized 102.848 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics valued at more than Rs 11.1 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, in an international drug interdiction operation, ANF officials recovered 12.3 kg of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, soaked into 10 jackets from a parcel destined for Australia at a courier office located at Jinnah International Airport.
In a separate operation at Lahore Airport, authorities recovered 70 capsules containing 509 grams of ice and 13 capsules containing 111 grams of heroin from the stomach of a passenger travelling to Qatar.
At Jinnah International Airport, ANF personnel also seized 1 kg of hashish concealed in a crate of mangoes packed in the luggage of a passenger bound for Qatar.
During domestic operations, ANF recovered 60 kg of hashish from a motorcyclist and a house near Gondlanwala Road in Gujranwala and arrested three suspects, including a woman.
Near Chungi No. 26 in Islamabad, officials seized 4.25 kg of ice from a wagon and arrested two suspects.
In Rawalpindi’s Shaheen Town area, ANF recovered 14.4 kg of hashish from a rickshaw and arrested two suspects.
In separate operations, 2.4 kg of hashish was seized from a motorcyclist near Fateh Chowk in Hyderabad, while 1.8 kg of hashish and 78 grams of ice were recovered from a woman near the District Jhelum Bus Terminal.
In an inter-provincial drug interdiction operation near Sangjani Toll Plaza in Islamabad, ANF recovered 6 kg of hashish from a vehicle and arrested the suspect.
The spokesman said cases had been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
