Allocation letters distributed to beneficiaries under ‘Apni Zameen Apna Ghar’ program

BAHAWALPUR, Jun 17 (APP): Residential plot allotment letters were distributed among deserving and homeless families in Bahawalpur under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s welfare initiative, “Apni Zameen Apna Ghar” (Your Land, Your Home).
The allotment ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, who presented the allotment letters to the selected beneficiaries and congratulated them on becoming part of the landmark housing program.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza said that practical measures are being taken under the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to provide shelter and housing opportunities to low-income and homeless families. He described “Apni Zameen Apna Ghar” as a revolutionary and people-centric initiative aimed at ensuring dignified housing facilities for vulnerable and underprivileged segments of society.
The Deputy Commissioner informed participants that a total of 21,400 applications were received from across Bahawalpur district for the housing scheme. Following a transparent scrutiny process and merit-based computerized balloting, seven fortunate families were selected for the allocation of residential plots. He emphasized that the Punjab Government is actively pursuing welfare-oriented policies and initiatives to improve the living standards of disadvantaged communities. According to him, the housing scheme represents a significant step toward translating the vision of a welfare state into reality.
During the ceremony, beneficiary families expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the Punjab Government for launching the initiative. Several recipients described homeownership as the greatest dream of their lives and said the scheme had transformed that dream into reality.
The beneficiaries shared that many of them had spent years living in rented accommodations and facing housing-related challenges. Through the government’s welfare intervention, they said, they now have the opportunity to secure permanent and dignified housing for their families. The recipients hailed the project as a historic initiative for low-income households and expressed hope that the government would continue introducing similar public welfare programs in the future.
