LAHORE, Sep 20 (APP):Prime Minister’s National Message of Peace Committee Coordinator Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has alleged that the groups he referred to as “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Fitna al-Khawarij” were involved in recent acts of terrorism in Pakistan and were operating from Afghanistan with alleged support from Afghan and Indian elements.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Uzbek media representatives, along with other members of the National Peace Committee, during a meeting at a local hotel here on Sunday.
Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said Fitna al-Khawarij was carrying out terrorism against Pakistan while operating from Afghanistan, for which evidence and proof were available. He said the terrorist who carried out the suicide blast at a mosque in Kohat the previous day also belonged to Afghanistan.
He said Afghanistan was a brotherly Islamic country and should take effective action against groups involved in terrorism against Pakistan.
He said Pakistan’s position regarding Palestine and Saudi Arabia was clear and unequivocal, adding that the Pakistani people also stood with Palestine and Saudi Arabia. He said the protection and defence of the Holy Mosques was of utmost importance to Pakistan and the country stood with Saudi Arabia for the security and defence of the Holy Land and the Holy Mosques.
The coordinator briefed the Uzbek media delegation about the establishment and objectives of the National Message of Peace Committee. He said the committee was established on September 9, 2025, reflecting a broader vision of mobilising Pakistan’s religious leadership as an effective force for peace, tolerance, national unity and stability.
He said representatives of all religions and schools of thought were included in the committee and its members had signed the Paigham-e-Pakistan document. The committee aimed to acquaint the public with the true teachings of Islam and promote inter-sectarian and interfaith harmony, he added.
Other members of the committee welcomed the Uzbek media delegation and said Uzbekistan was a brotherly country and the Uzbek people felt at home in Pakistan.
The Uzbek media delegation thanked the National Message of Peace Committee for its hospitality.
Members of the committee present on the occasion included Maulana Hafiz Maqbool Ahmed, Dr Mir Muhammad Asif Akbar Qadri, Muhammad Tauqeer Abbas, Dr Allama Muhammad Hussain, Dr Syed Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, Dr Shams-ur-Rehman, Maulana Zubair Faheem, Mufti Mubashir, Pandit Bhagat Lal and Gyani Ranjit Singh.
