A delegation of officers participating in the 47th Mid-Career Management Course at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) visited the headquarters of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday.

LAHORE, Aug 20 (APP): A delegation of officers participating in the 47th Mid-Career Management Course at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) visited the headquarters of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday.
Additional Director General (Headquarters) Usama Majid Cheema and Additional Director General (Housing) Waseem Ahmed briefed the visiting officers on the LDA’s working, various development projects, functioning of different departments and ongoing IT reforms.
The delegation was given detailed briefings on master planning, urban planning, town planning and other sections of the authority. The officers were also apprised of completed and ongoing development projects being executed by the LDA in Lahore.
The officials said that, on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, measures were being taken under a sustainable development model to transform Lahore into a more “livable” city.
Under sustainable development and urban regeneration initiatives, development work is underway around Data Darbar, Neela Gumbad, Gulberg and Lahore Railway Station.
The delegation was also briefed on measures being taken to improve revenue generation by the authority.
LDA Chief IT Officer Abdul Basit briefed the officers on the digital transformation of LDA records, online building plan approvals, digital mapping, the E-Biz portal and issuance of digital notices.
The visiting officers were also apprised of the authority’s efforts regarding illegal housing schemes, sale of land and the master plan.
Additional DG Urban Planning Khurram Shehzad, Chief Town Planners, Chief Metropolitan Planning Officer, Chief IT Officer, Director Finance and other senior LDA officials were also present on the occasion.
