18 gamblers arrested during crackdown

RAWALPINDI, Aug 21 (APP): Police have arrested 18 gamblers and recovered Rs963,000 in stake money, 21 mobile phones from their possession during crackdown here on Friday.

According to police spokesperson, the suspects were held during operation in the jurisdiction of Chaklala police station.

A case was registered against the arrested suspects, who were taken into custody.

Superintendent of Police Potohar Chaudhry Asar Ali commended police team and said gambling was a root cause of other social evils.

He said strict action would be continued against such anti social elements without any discrimination.
