LAHORE, Sep 13 (APP):Around 17,000 citizens on Sunday participated in the third online open court of Lahore Police,where DIG Operations Faisal Kamran directly responded to their questions and complaints.
DIG Faisal Kamran said Lahore Police would adopt comprehensive security measures to ensure the safety of citizens during the upcoming Basant, adding that protection of life and property at major events was a fundamental responsibility of the police.
He said the previous Basant was made safe through public cooperation and coordination among relevant departments, adding that coordinated arrangements were again being made with all concerned institutions for a secure event.
The DIG said complaints and information about crimes in Lahore were being acted upon promptly and urged citizens to rely on verified information from relevant institutions instead of hearsay.
He said the police was pursuing a zero tolerance policy against corruption and called for public cooperation in identifying drug dealers and suppliers.
Faisal Kamran also advised citizens to avoid sharing personal information to protect themselves from online fraud and to remain cautious of unknown calls and suspicious links. He said interest-based lending amounted to financial exploitation and legal action was being taken against those involved.
He advised citizens having complaints concerning other districts to approach the respective DPOs and RPOs for redressal.
