13 suspects held, arms, drugs recovered

BAHAWALPUR, Jul 02 (APP): The district police have arrested 13 suspects during an operation and recovered drugs, liquor, and weapons from them.

According to a spokesman for the Bahawalpur police, following a tip-off, police teams conducted raids in different areas and apprehended 13 suspects and recovered narcotics, liquor, and illegal firearms from their possession

He said that Police from Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Police Station, Cantt Police Station, Dhor Kot Police Station, and Sadr Hasilpur Police Station arrested seven suspects involved in the illegal sale of liquor. “During the operation, police recovered 240 liters of liquor and one operational illicit distillery from their possession,” he said.

Similarly, police from Baghdad-ul-Jadeed, Dhor Kot, and Sadr Hasilpur police stations launched a crackdown against drug dealers, arresting four suspects and recovering one kilogram and 30 grams of hashish and 200 grams of crystal meth from their possession.

In a separate operation, police from Dera Nawab Sahib Police Station and Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Police Station arrested two suspects and recovered two 30-bore pistols from their possession.

Separate cases have been registered against the suspects, and further investigation was underway.
