ISLAMABAD, Oct 18 (APP): Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Tuesday said the threat of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) to shut down Islamabad was aimed at creating chaos and unrest.

The government would not allow the PTI to disrupt the normal life of the citizens of the Capital, he said while speaking in a PTV programme.

He said holding protest was right of everyone but inciting the people to create anarchy was sheer violation of the Constitution.

The minister said law would take its course against violators and the state would protect life and property of the citizens.

Khurram said despite criticizing the federal government, the PTI should take steps to serve the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where it was in power.

If Imran Khan was sincere to hold accountability, then why the PTI had closed the office of accountability commission in KP, he questioned.

He said the PTI was using accountability as slogan for their politics like it had started hurling allegations of ‘rigging’ after general election 2013.

The minister said that the government had constituted electoral reforms committee and if the PTI was sincere to bring more transparency in the process then it should have given its input on that forum.

He said there was no reality in PTI’s claims that they had used all forums regarding Panama Papers as their petitions were still pending in SC and ECP.
