ECP delegates magistrial powers to POs

SIALKOT, Nov 29 (APP): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has delegated powers of magistrate 1st class to 2,253 presiding officers (POs) and 36 returning officers (ROs) for three days in Sialkot and Narowal districts ahead of coming third phase of LB polls to be held on December 5.
A formal notification in this regard has also been issued here on Sunday by the ECP.
The ECP officials said that Sialkot district’s 1544 and Narowal district’s 709 Presiding Officers (POs) and 25 returning officers (ROs) in Sialkot district and 11 ROs in Narowal district would have powers of magistrate 1st class from December 4 to 6.
The ECP has also deputed 1544 presiding officers and 4332 assistant presiding officers in Sialkot district, 709 presiding officers and 2276 assistant presiding officers in Narowal district for the LB polls,
the officials said.
