ECP asks Sindh, Punjab govts to notify reserved seats

ISLAMABAD, Jan 10 (APP): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday asked the provincial governments of Punjab and Sindh to notify the number of reserved seats for completion of the local government (LG) election process.
An ECP spokesman, in a statement, said neither the Punjab government not the Sindh government had notified the number of reserved seats as required under the law.
In case the same were not notified, the ECP would notify the reserved seats by its own and issue the election schedule for the same on Friday, he added.
He stated that the ECP had already appointed presiding officers who would administer oath to the elected members on coming Thursday. After that the ECP would issue the schedule for reserve seats, he added.
