United States (US) Consul General in Lahore Kristin K. Hawkins unveiling of plaque of Conservation and Rehabilitation of Southern Side of Wazir Khan Mosque Funded by U.S Department of State and Government of the Punjab. The South Pavilion, the Southeast Minaret and the Shrine of Imam Gamu are significant historical landmarks of the Wazir Khan Mosque. U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP-branded) cultural heritage preservation project at the Wazir Khan Mosque. In order to restore these cultural and architectural sites, Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan / Aga Khan Cultural Service Pakistan carried out an extensive conservation and restoration project between January 2022 and December 2023 in collaboration with the Walled City of Lahore Authority will preserve structures located on the southern side of the Wazir Khan Mosque including the seventeenth century Tomb of Imam Gamun, six hujras and central pavilion, and the south-east minaret of the Mosque.
