Thorgo Pari is famous for its battlefield where the last battle of the war of independence of Baltistan was fought. Under the command of Brigadier Faqeer Sing, 350 soldiers, 400 porters, and 200 horses were dispatched from Srinagar to help their army in Skardu who were attacked by the Mujahideen.
