5.7 magnitude earthquake jolts parts of Punjab

LAHORE, Sep 11 (APP):The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) received initial reports about the earthquake from all districts of Punjab.
Director General PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said that there are no reports of any loss of life or property in Punjab due to the earthquake. District administration, Rescue and other related organisations are present in the field. In other districts of Punjab, including Lahore, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 5.7. The epicentre of the earthquake was Dera Ghazi Khan Shadiwala while the depth was 10 km. Machinery and staff have been put on alert to deal with the aftershocks of the earthquake, the DG added.
District Emergency Operation Centres across Punjab including PDMA’s Provincial Control Room are on 24/7 alert. Earthquake damage can be reported on PDMA’s helpline 1129, he mentioned.
