The Buddhist stupa at Ban Faqiran dates from the 2nd to the 5th century C.E. The complex, which includes the stupa and a long staircase, covers an area of 10.15 by 26.20 meters. It was constructed using local limestone and Kanjur stone. Presently, the Ban Faqiran stupa is the largest historical Buddhist monument discovered in Islamabad. In addition to the stupa’s structural remains, a variety of artifacts such as coins, pot shards, and arrowheads have been discovered at the site. The coins date from the 1st century B.C. to the late Mughal period. These artifacts are currently displayed at the Islamabad Museum, located at G-5/1 Attaturk Avenue
