ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (APP):Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), engineer Javed Saleem Qureshi Thursday appreciating Prime Minister Imran Khan’s initiative for construction of Bhasha dam project, said that concerned quarters should utilize the skill of domestic engineers for making this mega project successful.
Using experience of Pakistani engineers in dam project would save the public money besides generating the cheap energy for meeting the growing demand of this country in a befitting manner.
He suggested the concerned quarters about establishment of ‘public limited companies’ where Pakistani nation would provide full support to this mega project.
The Bhasha dam project would require 1800 billion rupees, he said adding that initially, we needed 400 billion rupees to complete the first phase of the project.
“We can produce 45 per cent cheap electricity from dam water than the Thermal, ” he said.
Imran Khan had injected the political will in to the public, he said adding that there was need to motivate masses in a proper manner so that the project could be completed within the stipulated time.
He requested the present government to provide opportunity to the indigenous engineers and implement the decision of the apex court for fulfilling the posts of engineers in various departments.
