ISLAMABAD, Mar 23 (APP):Pakistan’s High Commission in Canada Saturday hosted a flag hoisting ceremony to mark the celebrations of the Pakistan Day.
Addressing the ceremony, Pakistan’s High Commissioner in Canada Raza Bashir Tarar said Pakistan was moving towards its rightful place in the comity of nations, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He lauded the valuable support of Pakistani Canadians to Pakistan as evidenced by their generous contributions to the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.
He assured the gathering that the high commission and its sub-missions stood ready to work with them for the achievement of common goals.
The ceremony started with a moment of silence for the martyrs of New Zealand, whose sacrifice, as remarked by the High Commissioner, had shown the entire world that Islam was a religion of peace and that terrorism and violent extremism had no religion.
The high commissioner read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
