All set to celebrate Eid ul Azha with religious fervour in Sukkur

SUKKUR, Jun 16 (APP): Like other parts of the country, people of northern Sindh are going to celebrate Eidul Azha with great religious fervour and enthusiasm falling on Monday, to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
The day will dawn with special prayers in mosques for the wellbeing of the Ummah and progress, prosperity, safety and security of the country.
Big Eid congregations will be held at mosques, Eidgahs and open places in all cities, towns and villages across the country.
Ulema and Khateeb will highlight significance of the festival and the philosophy of sacrifice.
In Sukkur, the main Eid congregation will be held at Jamia Masjid Sukkur.
After offering Eid prayers, the faithful will slaughter their sacrificial animals.
The district administrations has chalked out elaborate security arrangements across the Sukkur division to ward off untoward incidents.

FWMC distributes bags for collecting entrails

FAISALABAD, Jun 16 (APP): The Faisalabad Waste Management Company (FWMC) has distributed waste bags among people to collect entrails and other waste parts of scarified animals during Eid days.
The FWMC has established awareness camps in various parts of the city to apprise people about importance of cleanliness.
Divisional Commissioner Madam Silwat Saeed visited the FWMC camps at Chenab Club Chowk and D-Ground and distributed waste bags among the general public. She said that the FWMC was fully active to ensure proper cleanliness during the Eid days. However, this task could not be achieved without cooperation of general public.
Therefore, citizens should avoid throwing waste material of sacrificed animals at open places or in sewerage drain. They should pack it in bags and hand it over to the workers of FWMC.
She said that FWMC workers would implement a comprehensive cleanliness strategy under which they would ensure immediate removal of waste material from the city areas and dispose of it at dumping site.
The people should call the FWMC at this help line 1139. The waste workers would immediately respond to the complaint for its urgent redress.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FWMC Rauf Ahmad and others were also present.

Saleem Channa’s book launching ceremony held

HYDERABAD, Jun 16 (APP): Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan, in its weekly literary series, arranged a book launch ceremony based on the essays and letters of Khan Sahab Abdullah Channa and Begum Zeenat Channa.
The book title’Jekay JJag Jirkaey Waya’ had been compiled by eminent story writer Saleem Channa.
Eminent intellectual Prof. Dr. Qazi Khadim presided over the session, while Secretary Bazm-e-Rooh Rihan Wahid Kandhro hosted the literary session.
Taj Joyo, Abdul Aziz Junejo, GHulam Nabi Soomro, and author Saleem Channa expressed their views on the book.

Rescue 1122 cancels holidays

PESHAWAR, Jun 16 (APP): The leave of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Emergency Rescue Service Rescue 1122 personnel has been cancelled on Eid-ul-Azha.
In this regard, Dr Muhammad Ayaz Khan, Director General of Rescue 1122 issued a notification, here on Sunday.
 Rescue 1122 stations will remain open in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the merged districts to deal with any emergency.

1000 Eid congregations in Faisalabad district

FAISALABAD, Jun 16 (APP): Eid-ul-Azha 2024 will be celebrated in and around Faisalabad, like in other parts of the country, on Monday, June 17, 2024, with full religious passion, enthusiasm, fervour and zeal.
About 1000 Eid congregations will be organised across the district including more than 650 in mosques and others at open sites.
The imams will highlight the importance of Qurbani (sacrifice) in their Eid sermons and urge people to donate generously for the help of their poor brethren besides sacrificing animals in the way of Allah Almighty.
The imams will also pray for betterment and welfare of Muslim Ummah as well as for progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, leaves of Rescue 1122, FESCO, WASA, FWMC, Civil Defence and hospitals’ staff have been canceled and they were directed to remain available at their duty points to deal with emergencies during the Eid holidays.
The Police Department also made tight security arrangements by deploying more than 4,572 security personnel and directed four SPs, 19 DSPs and 15 Inspectors to monitor security arrangements for ensuring foolproof security for Eid congregations throughout the district, police spokesman said here on Sunday.

Home Minister orders comprehensive security on Eid ul Azha

KARACHI, Jun 16 (APP):The Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar on Sunday ordered to make effective and comprehensive security on Eid ul Azha.
He said that the security on Eid should be made properly. Lanjar said that the code of conduct should be strictly implemented.
Stakeholders should be taken on board on security measures, he said adding that the implementation of Eidul-Azha 2024 Contingency Plan be ensured in letter and spirit.
The minister said that all registered welfare and social organisations, religious madrasas and other stakeholders should be made bound as per the code of conduct. He said that security should be made extraordinary at all mosques, Imam Bargahs, Eid prayer places, and other open places.
He also directed SSPs, SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to perform well.

Dry, very hot weather likely to persist in city

BAHAWALPUR, Jun 16 (APP): The local Met Office has forecast a dry and very hot weather for the city next 24 hours.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 43 degrees centigrade and 32 degrees centigrade during the last 24 hours.
Dry and hot weather has also been forecast for rest of the region.

PM, King of Bahrain admire strong ties between two countries

ISLAMABAD, Jun 16 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Sunday held a cordial telephone conversation to exchange warm greetings on the occasion of Eid ul Adha and expressed their mutual respect and admiration for the strong historical ties between Pakistan and Bahrain, built on shared values and cultural affinities.

The prime minister acknowledged and appreciated Bahrain’s support and cooperation in various fields over the years. In particular, he thanked King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his respect and affection towards Pakistan, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

“The two leaders reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to further strengthen bilateral relations, enhance economic cooperation, and work closely to promote regional peace and security”, the press statement added.

While fondly recalling King Hamad’s historic visit to Pakistan in 2014, the prime minister reiterated his warm and cordial invitation to the Bahrainian King to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience.

The telephone call reflected the warm and friendly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain, with a shared desire to further deepen their fraternal ties.
