PM grieved over shahadat of security personnel in Lakki Marwat

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday while reiterating the resolve to continue fighting against terrorism till its complete elimination, expressed his deep grief over shahadat of seven security personnel, including Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas shaheed, in a terrorist attack in District Lakki Marwat.

The prime minister prayed for the bereaved families to bear the losses with equanimity, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

He said that the entire nation saluted the law enforcement agencies for their services and unprecedented sacrifices and stood with the brave Jawans.

The prime minister also resolved to make terrorists accountable.

Accident claims 16 lives in Neelum Valley AJK

MUZAFFARABAD, Jun 09 (APP):Sixteen people including women and children were died and 3 got injured in a tragic road accident in Taobat area of Neelum Valley district, some 150 kilometers of here, on Sunday, official said.
A police official in the area told APP on Phone that a Jeep carrying 19 people from Kail to Taobat plunged in the area from 200 feet height when driver lost control.
“Three people on the roof of the Jeep jumped down on the sides and got injured when it started slipping down while all the passengers inside were drown in the river whose bodies had been retrieved latter by the local rescuers,” the official added.
Bodies of a tourist couple were identified as Javed Akhtar and Saima Shabnam residents of Multan who were on a tour to the area.

Education Ministry announces to hold Summer Camps for students of ICT

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): In order to engage students in the creative and healthy activities, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional has announced to hold training camps titled “Summer Fiesta” offering a number of activities.
According to an official source, the summer camps will be held from June 24 till July 31 to provide an opportunity to the students to spend their time in doing some constructive activities.
The training summer camps for Islamabad Capital Territory schools and colleges will offer a wide range of benefits, including extended learning, character development, socialization, exposure to new experiences, personal growth and development of essential life skills.
These activities have been designed for the students in line with the modern requirements so that the students can find these useful in determining their future interests.
The camps will help enable the students to disconnect from screens, build school spirit, and create lifelong memories in a safe and supportive environment.
The camps will include Tech Boot Camp, Digital Art, Rumi Camp, Skills based courses, Public speaking, Language Laboratory, Cosmetology and personal grooming, Content creation, Greening education, Mind games, sports, Drama and Theater, Young Entrepreneurs, Photography, videography and podcasts, Climate change and Environmental literacy and art and craft etc.
By providing a well-rounded experience, summer camps will help students return to school refreshed, motivated, and prepared for the new academic year.

OIC SG felicitates Pakistan on its election as UNSC non-permanent member

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha has extended his congratulations to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Federal Republic of Somalia on their election as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the term 2025-2026.

“The Secretary-General noted that the election of the two States, at a challenging time for international peace and security, is a testimony of the confidence placed in them in the fulfillment of their responsibility to the Security Council,” OIC Secretariat in Jeddah said in a press statement on Sunday.

Appreciating Pakistan and Somalia’s valuable role as members of the OIC, the secretary-general conveyed his wishes for success in their noble endeavors in serving the global community.
