SNGPL punishes 17 consumers for illegal use of meters

MULTAN, Jun 09 (APP): Sui Northern Gas pipelines Limited (SNGPL) punished 17 citizens during a crackdown for last two days.

According to officials of Task Force, the consumers were using gas illegally as they were found making commercial use of gas, offering illegal connections to others and had also shifted meters at different sites by themselves.

The gas metres of all 17 consumers were disconnected for violation of the laws. Similarly, another 17 consumers have been warned to shift their meters near service points in interior city as these had been installed outside the service points.

The department urged citizens to cooperate and informed about illegal use of gas at phone number 0619220085 as secrecy would be maintained.

According to Regional Manager Hussain Zafar, a special cell has been introduced to respond to complaints. Some officers have also been deputed in the cell to ensure timely resolution of complaints.

PBBF trails for Asian Indoor Games on June 28

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): The Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF) one day trials for the selection of Pakistan team to compete in the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2024 in the 3×3 format (Men) would be held on June 28.
The trails would be held at the Government College University Basketball Courts in Lahore, said a press release issued on Sunday.
The affiliated units of PBBF have been directed to nominate budding, talented and upcoming players for the trials.
The nominated sportsperson must be below the age of 23 years on Dec 31, 2024.
The National Basketball Training Camp would be sponsored by the Pakistan Sports Board and qualified coaches will impart training to the players.
The PBBF was also exploring possibilities that selected team also undertake training cum competitions tour of neighbouring countries before participation in the Indoor Games.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Sunday notified two-day power suspension programme for Monday and Tuesday for various areas of its region due to necessary maintenance and routine development work.

IESCO’s outstanding dues against govt institutions stand at Rs 71.16 b

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Sunday issued list of defaulted government institutions which have pending payments of over Rs 71.16 billion.
The defaulter institutions were also directed to clear their pending dues within a week to ensure uninterrupted power supply, said a press release issue here.

Madinah medical team successfully operates on Togolese pilgrim

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): The medical teams at King Fahd Hospital, a part of the Medina Health Cluster, have successfully operated on a Togolese pilgrim in his forties who suffered from life-threatening pulmonary embolism.
According to the Health Cluster the patient arrived at King Fahd Hospital’s emergency room with severe fatigue and breathing difficulty. A CT Scan and other tests revealed a sharp increase in heart enzymes and massive clots in the pulmonary arteries, spa reported on Sunday.
Several medical teams immediately performed catheterization, using the latest technology, a procedure carried out with success. The patient was then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit, where a team of pulmonologists oversaw his treatment plan until his condition stabilized and he recovered. He was then discharged from the hospital to complete the Hajj rituals.
