CII chairman appreciates removal of certain portions in Mubarak Sani Case verdicts

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (APP):Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman, Dr Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi on Thursday lauded the removal of all certain portions in the Mubarak Sani case verdicts.
In a statement, Dr Raghib expressed that the court’s decision aligns with the principled stance of the Muslim Ummah on Shariah and legal matters, bringing satisfaction to the community.
He also extended his appreciation to the honorable court, particularly the Chief Justice of Pakistan, for revising the decision in light of the council’s recommendations and the demands of religious scholars from various schools of thought.
It is noteworthy that the judicial proceedings were conducted under the special directives of the prime minister, with the involvement of all concerned parties. The suggestions put forth by religious scholars played a crucial role in addressing the concerns of the Muslim community, especially within religious circles.

PTI failed to mobilize people for public meeting: Musadiq

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (APP):Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadiq Malik on Thursday said that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), leaders have failed to mobilize people for public meetings in the Tarnol area. The people are not paying attention to the call given by PTI leadership for gathering in the capital area, he said
while talking to a private television channel. Unpopular decisions taken by PTI leaders on May 9, against the state institutions damaged the politics of PTI founder, he added. “Unsuited plans made by the leader of PTI on May 9, was a punishable offense as per the law of the country, ” he stated.
PTI’s undemocratic and uncivilized strategies had damaged the country’s economy, PTI politics, and institutions, he observed.
Commenting on government efforts to address genuine issues of the common man, he said the federal government following the instructions of the prime minister had provided a fifty billion rupee subsidy on electricity bills to lower the burden on poor people. Besides this, he said the Punjab government under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz had allocated forty-five billion rupee funds for extending relief to people on power bills.
He suggested the representatives of the other provinces follow the good steps of Chief Minister Punjab and take the decisions for removing the grievances of their public. In reply to a question about Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said there are no differences between the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-N. However, he said that the Center would have talks with the PPP chairman for resolving political affairs.

Hina Pervaiz Butt supports women home-based workers

LAHORE, Aug 22 (APP):Member of the Punjab Assembly and Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority Hina Pervaiz Butt led an exclusive exhibition to support women home-based workers and survivors of violence at the All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA), here on Thursday.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Punjab Women Protection Authority, highlighted the importance of economic empowerment and skill development for women facing challenging circumstances.
Addressing the attendees, Ms. Butt emphasized the Punjab government’s zero-tolerance policy towards violence against women (VAW), stating, “Ensuring the safety and empowerment of women is essential for a progressive and peaceful society. We are committed to making every effort to eradicate VAW and create opportunities for women to thrive.”
The exhibition was followed by a seminar that focused on closing gaps in employable skills for women.
Marieme Jamme, CEO of ‘I am the CODE’, shared her insights on a global movement dedicated to empowering women and girls through technology and digital skills. She emphasized that adopting new, marketable skills is crucial for young women to build sustainable careers.
Samia Zahid Aslam, Chairperson of APWA, discussed the role of entrepreneurship in enabling home-based workers to tap into emerging opportunities in the digital landscape. Ms. Dur-e-Shawar, COO of APWA, highlighted that acquiring essential skills and certifications is key to addressing unemployment and poverty. “The lack of employable skills among young girls is a significant barrier to their financial independence. Our goal is to equip them with the tools they need to succeed in the modern economy,” she stated.
The event showcased a diverse array of handmade products crafted by home-based workers, providing attendees with the chance to interact with artisans and learn more about their journeys. The initiative not only celebrated creativity and craftsmanship but also fostered valuable connections and opportunities for women striving to secure better livelihoods.
