Man dies in road accident

ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP):A 24-year-old man lost his life after falling from the running train in Taxila here Tuesday.
The accident occurred near a railway crossing as the train was en route from Rawalpindi to Multan.
According to police reports, the young man was standing at the gate of a moving train bogie when he fell off to the right, said a private news channel.
Emergency services were rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, the man namely Usman Amjad Gujjar succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the accident to determine how it might have been prevented.
The Thal Express 130 Town, which operates daily between Rawalpindi and Multan, continued its journey after a brief halt.

Process of sacrificing animals continues on second day of Eid ul Azha

MULTAN, Jun 18 (APP):The process of sacrificing animals was also witnessed on the second day of the Eid ul Azha across different areas of the city.
The citizens especially in urban areas who could not manage butchers on the first day succeed to hire services of the butchers on the second day. However, the charges of the butchers also dropped significantly on the second day.
On the first day of Eid ul Azha, the butchers were found charging an average Rs 20,000; however, on the second day, the charges remained nearly Rs 10,000. Similarly, the charges of the butchers on the first day for small animals were Rs 6000 (average) however, on the second day, they charged nearly Rs 3000.
Citizen named Khalid talking to APP remarked that he could not find a butcher on the first day because of non-availability. However, he easily availed the services of the butcher on the second day.
Malik Tariq Jandran, another citizen, stated that he managed to slaughter small animal by himself. However, on the second day, he hired the services of the butchers for slaughtering of his three big animals at his native village.

Rain brings relief to twin cities, more showers forecasted

ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP):The recent rainfall has brought a much-needed respite to the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, creating a pleasant change in the weather.
According to the Meteorological Department, more rain is expected in the upper regions of the country today.
The forecast indicates that on the second day of Eid, there will be rain in Northeast and Upper Punjab, the Potohar region, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Despite the rainfall, some districts will continue to experience very hot weather during the day, with possible wind and rain at a few locations.
Today’s highest temperatures are projected to reach a scorching forty-eight degrees Celsius in Sibi, forty-three degrees in Islamabad, forty-four degrees in Lahore, and a more moderate thirty-three degrees in Karachi.
Meanwhile, the weather in southern and central regions of Pakistan is expected to remain very hot and dry.
As the rain brings relief to the northern parts, the Meteorological Department urges residents to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against the heat in areas where high temperatures persist.
