Two held, huge amount of heroin crystal recovered

RAWALPINDI, Aug 11 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), while conducting an operation in Karachi on Sunday, arrested two accused and managed to recover 30 kg of heroin (crystal) from their possession.
According to an ANF Headquarters spokesman, in an operation carried out on Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road, Karachi, an ANF team intercepted a Hilux Revo vehicle and recovered 30 kg of heroin (crystal).
Two accused residents of Kech district, Balochistan, were also arrested on the spot during the operation.
The international value of the recovered drugs is $6 million, he said.
A case has been registered against the arrested accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act, while further investigation is in process.

Green Sindh Foundation running a tree plantation campaign in Larkana

LARKANA , Aug 11 (APP):Green Sindh Foundation, a social organization, ran a tree plantation campaign in Larkana on Sunday to make the country green and protect it from the effects of climate change in order to inform the students about the importance and benefits of tree planting in the context of running a tree planting campaign under the banner of Green Pakistan.
A tree planting ceremony was organized in Begum Nusrat Bhutto Girls Degree College, in which DFO Arshad Haider Kumari, principal of the college Samina Naz Abro, head of the organization Zulfikar Ali Magsi, and others carried the national flags of the college in their hands.
They also have trees and plants on the premises of the college.
Addressing the event, DFO, Principal, and Sarwan of the organization said, “Afforestation is an important need of the current period; to avoid climate effects and environmental changes, afforestation should be implemented in emergency zones and afforestation of green belts and urban forests.”
“The state should be implemented so that the country is green and protected from environmental impacts,” she added.
On this occasion, Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, the head of the organization, gave the green hero award to DFO Arshad Haider Kumari and college principal Samina Naz Abro, who served in the tree campaign.

Salik commends minority contributions, calls for unity on ‘National Minorities Day’

ISLAMABAD, Aug 11 (APP): Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, eulogizing the contributions of minorities in various national sectors, said their services are commendable.

In a message on National Minorities Day, observed on August 11 every year, he emphasized that Pakistan’s national flag symbolizes the clear representation of minorities, reflecting their integral role in the nation.

“Our Constitution guarantees the protection of minorities and their social rights,” said Salik underscoring the importance of fostering religious harmony to ensure peace and brotherhood within society.

He further acknowledged the pivotal role of minority communities in the country’s progress, affirming that they enjoy complete religious freedom in Pakistan.

Salik reiterated that the protection of minorities is not only the responsibility of the government but also a religious duty of every Pakistani.

Concluding his remarks, he said, “We are all united for the integrity, survival, and development of the country.”

CTD arrests to wanted terrorists of banned SRA organization

LARKANA , Aug 11 (APP):The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Police in Larkana, along with agencies took action on Sunday based on secret information and arrested two wanted terrorists belonging to the banned organization SRA.

The police seized explosive material, detonators, safety fuse, black powder, wire nut bolts and a grenade. Following the seizure of material, the police filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the CTD police station.

In this regard, DSP Larkana Syed Asghar Ali Shah told to media person that the team of CTD Police Larkana conducted a joint operation with agencies on the Neodero Road on a secret tip. He said that Salahuddin Jatoi, a resident of Mehrabpur village of Bagrani taluks, was arrested and 350 grams of explosives, six detonators, a safety fuse, black powder, wire, nut bolt and a grenade were seized from the accused.

He said that the arrested terrorists told during the investigation that they met with the senior leadership of SRA during 15 days of training, where they learned to operate and make all kinds of weapons.

He said that the terrorists have accepted responsibility for the explosion in DAS Hyderi Larkana on May 29 and revealed that after the blast in DSP Hyderi’s office, They had a plan to blow up Ladies Jail Larkana.

DSP CTD further informed that there are cases of serious nature including terrorism against the arrested terrorists in different police stations.

77th Independence Day preparations in full swing

RAWALPINDI, Aug 11 (APP):Like other parts of the country, preparations for the 77th Independence Day are in full swing here in the Rawalpindi region, as the day is approaching fast and national flags are selling like hot cakes.
All the government and private departments are busy finalizing special programs regarding the 77th Independence Day.
Different government and private organizations are arranging special programs. The departments will present a flower show, tableaus, dramas, speeches, etc. during five days from August 10-14. The Art Council will also present special programs regarding Independence Day.
The district administration has also planned to arrange sports competitions on Independence Day.
In Rawalpindi, preparations for the day are spiking up while the vendors have set up stalls of colorful bunting, national flags, banners, and pictures of national heroes who struggled day and night to achieve a common goal—the creation and safety of the country with the start of August.
National songs are being played in every nook and cranny of the city, which give the message that the whole nation is united.
The national flag will be hoisted at important buildings to celebrate the day in a befitting manner. Sweets will be distributed among the poor on Independence Day.
Special prizes will be awarded to those who best decorate and illuminate their buildings. The educational institutions will also conduct special programs on occasion.
A colorful flag hoisting ceremony will be held here at the Commissioner’s Office on August 14th and will be attended by Commissioner Rawalpindi, Deputy Commissioner (DC), as well as MNAs and MPAs. A large number of school students will present the national anthem, national songs, and speeches. The local management will distribute prizes among students on Independence Day.
The police, on the directive of the city police officer, have planned to make foolproof security arrangements all around Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incidents on Independence Day. The makers of bunting, banners, flags, and badges are working day and night to fulfill the demands of the buyers. The public complains that the prices of flags, pictures of national heroes, and other stuff like badges are out of reach of a common man; however, some will buy and some will pray that prices go down.
The local business community is busy making national flags, buntings, pictures of national heroes, and stickers here at Raja Bazaar, Bhabra Bazaar, Sarafa Bazaar, Purana Qilla, Ganjmandi, Gawalmandi, Chur, Allahabad, Misriyal, Tench Bhatta, Asghar Mall, Banni, etc. The businesses of these items at all big stores as well as by roadside vendors remain at their peak, which shows the zeal of people of all ages.

Minorities in Pakistan enjoy complete religious, social freedom: Governor

In his message on the occasion of the National Day of Minorities, Governor Sindh said that the minority community was working side by side with us for the development of the country. He said that Pakistan’s minority community was rendering significant services in various fields of life.

The governor said that the minority community has complete representation also in the legislative institutions of the country where they were performing well.

DIG orders foolproof security on Independence Day celebrations

ISLAMABAD, Aug 11 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Syed Ali Raza on Sunday directed police officers to make foolproof security arrangements to ensure the safety and security of citizens on the occasion of Independence Day.

According to a police spokesman, an important meeting under the chairmanship of DIG Islamabad was held to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of Independence Day.

On this occasion, SSPA officers, Zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs were also present.

DIG issued instructions to all the officers to organize rallies on the occasion of Independence Day in their respective areas.

He emphasized that all the officers stay in the field and ensure law and order and traffic flow, take action against one-wheeling. “Also initiate action against one-wheeling and workshops manufacturing motorcycles for this purpose”, he added.

Additionally, DIG Ali Raza ordered a crackdown on cars and motorcycles with unauthorized or fancy number plates. He instructed the deployment of special forces at entertainment venues and markets, as well as mobile patrols from police stations, CTD commandos, and Dolphin Force units to address illegal activities.

“Harassment and violation of the law will not be tolerated under any circumstances” he said adding that on the occasion of Independence Day, there should be an effective crackdown against law-breaking elements.

Islamabad Police is taking all possible measures to protect the life and property of the citizens, said DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza.

Man kills sister in Okara

ISLAMABAD, Aug 11 (APP):A man killed his sister in the Atari Road area of Hujrah Shah Muqeem on Sunday for failing the school exam, a private news channel and police reported.
According to the police, the incident occurred in the Atari Road area where a brother shot his sister for failing her ninth-grade exam.
The police reached the spot after the incident was reported and started the investigation process. The suspect fled from the scene after the murder, and raids are being conducted to catch him.
The police lodged an FIR against the suspect on the complaint of the victim’s mother.

Gomi Bai Ladies Club celebrates Independence Day in Larkana
