Registration for commission in Navy to continue till August 25

HYDERABAD, Aug 22 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shehryar Gul Memon has said in a statement issued for the awareness of the youth of the district that Pakistan Navy Recruitment Center Shaheed Benazirabad is currently registering youth for various branches of the Navy, which will continue until August 25, 2024.

RWMC ensures cleanliness of cricket stadium

RAWALPINDI, Aug 22 (APP):Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) continuously carried out the cleanliness of the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium during the Pakistan-Bangladesh cricket test series match.
According to the RWMC spokesman, to keep the area neat and clean, the RWMC had deployed staff members, including sanitary workers and supervisors, in two shifts at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Chief Executive Officer RWMC Rana Sajid Safdar said the areas inside and outside the stadium, including the double road, were being cleaned daily while workers were also present during the match till the end of the game.
Sajid said that waste bins placed from Faizabad to Double Road were cleaned daily to ensure cleanliness.
 Meanwhile, the RWMC workers made all-out efforts to keep the city clear of any problems during the continued intermittent rains from the last week.
He said that RWMC workers worked day and night to clean and dredge major drains to avoid urban flooding.
He said that additional staff had been assigned duties to ensure cleanliness round the clock so that some sanitation-related problems could not become hurdles in the smooth flow of water. He said that complaints received on social media platforms had also been addressed promptly.

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 22 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rashid Masood Khan has directed authorities to ensure foolproof security, cleanliness, and essential arrangements for the upcoming Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), guaranteeing a peaceful and dignified observance.
Chairing a meeting to review preparations on Thursday, he emphasized utilizing all resources to maintain a tranquil environment, as has been the tradition every year.
During the meeting, the district peace committee proposed various measures, including clearing procession routes, uninterrupted electricity supply, medical facilities, and mosquito control measures, which the Deputy Commissioner assured would be addressed.

PESHAWAR, Aug 22 (APP):At least seven persons died in rains related incidents during last 24 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Provincial Disasters Management Authority, these people had expired in different districts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
Two sisters namely Saima and Naima daughters of Bakhtullah died at Domail Bannu when roof of a house collapsed.
Similarly, one person each expired at Tank, Mohmand and Dera Ismail Khan while two in Mansehra.

Provincial Minister emphasizes  modernization of agriculture, empower women farmers

HYDERABAD, Aug 22 (APP):Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Sports, and Anti-Corruption, Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar has emphasized the significance of adapting agriculture to modern technology demands, highlighting the need for training students, particularly female students, in the latest technology.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of a training workshop on tractor operation and maintenance for women at Tando Jam Agricultural University, he underscored the government’s efforts to provide employment opportunities to women in agriculture.
He announced that trained female students would be provided with tractors, acknowledging the private sector’s role in this initiative.
Minister praised the increasing participation of women in agricultural departments, attributing this progress to the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He stressed the need for modern research and education in agriculture, highlighting the department’s work on providing subsidized agricultural machinery and introducing the Kisan Card.
In response to media queries, Mehar defended the Sindh government’s performance, urging critics to reflect on their responsibilities.
He assured strict action against negligent officers and praised Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah’s capabilities.
Regarding sports, Mahar announced the upcoming Sindh Olympics initiative, aiming to train youth in Olympic sports and tap into the country’s talent pool.
He cited Arshad Nadeem, a talented athlete, as an example of Pakistan’s potential in sports.
Later, addressing the event the  Sindh Agriculture Secretary Rafiq Ahmad Buriro emphasized the importance of involving women in the agriculture sector, stating that no society can develop without their participation.
In a training workshop on tractor operation and maintenance for women, Buriro highlighted the significance of training women in driving and maintaining tractors as a first step towards their inclusion in the agricultural sector.
He announced the introduction of a start-up agriculture entrepreneurship program, financed by the Sindh government, aimed at promoting modern agriculture and creating employment opportunities for women and youth. Burero envisioned a business cycle that would drive sustainable modern agriculture.
The secretary expressed optimism that such training programs would pave the way for transparent and sustainable modern agriculture, encouraging agricultural professionals to take the lead.
At the ceremony, motivational certificates were distributed among the women trainees, recognizing their participation in the tractor use and maintenance training workshop.

IESCO notifies power shutdown programme

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (APP):Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Thursday issued a power suspension programme for Friday for various areas of its region due  to necessary maintenance and routine development work.
According to IESCO Spokesperson, the power supply of different feeders and grid stations would remain suspended for the period From 06:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Rawalpindi City Circle, Kurry Road, Shalimar City, Top City, Mumtaz City, F-17/1, F-17/2, Nogzi, Chakaral Feeders, Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, Japan Road, Car Chowk, RA Bazar, Chungi No-22, Tench Bhatta, Kayani Road Feeders, Attock Circle, Garhi Afghana, Pind Pran, Valley, Gulshan Sehat, Sangjani, Shahullah Dutta, Paswal Feeders, Chakwal Circle, Al Qadir Mills , Sackral feeders and surrounding areas.

Ideology of accession to Pakistan most important spiritual ideology for Kashmiris:  AJK PM

MIRPUR, Aug 22 (APP):Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that the ideology of accession to Pakistan is the most important spiritual ideology for him and the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir state.
“Whoever will try to sabotage it then the law will take its course,” the PM stated.
PM Anwar ul Haq said he had inherited this ideology from his father and would pass it on to the next generation.
“Our parents, us, and our future generations have always advocated for this ideology and we will continue to do so in the future until it is translated into reality,”  Anwar expressed these words while talking to various public representative delegations here late on Wednesday.
“Being a democratic person, everyone has permission to promote their ideology, but the state will not allow spreading hatred or sectarianism, and wherever peace is endangered or disrupted, the government will perform its duties,”  he warned.
The AJK PM continued that his government provided historic subsidies on electricity and flour to the public and bore a budget deficit of 71 billion.
Anwaar said his government provided Rs. 1 billion in funds to local government institutions to spend on public welfare projects.
“We presented the first tax-free budget in the history of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the state government was providing every possible facility to the masses and that reforms were being introduced in various sectors.
The PM emphasized that many public representative organizations talk about rights, but now they will also have to talk about responsibilities.
“We cut the privileges of the current cabinet members and reduced the expenses of the Prime Minister’s House, which resulted in the current 32-member cabinet’s expenses being half of the previous cabinet’s expenses,”  he concluded.

IHC seeks comments from IIU on eviction of hostel

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought comments from the administration of Islamic International University in a case against eviction of hostel from students.
The court instructed the administration to address the students’ grievances and informed it in same day.
Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, hearing the case, remarked that it was so weird decision for asking 3500 students to evict the hostel. The court remarked that it would suspend the order if the university didn’t find reasonable solution.
The university’s lawyer adopted the stance that there were vacations after the completion of semester due to which rooms were being evicted from students. He said that the decision is taken to stop the incidents of clashes between students’ groups.
The court said that the rooms should be allotted as per the merit, adding that the students have no right to choose the rooms themselves. It asked the university administration to re-allot the rooms to the students.
The lawyer requested the court to grant time to take instructions from administration. The further hearing was then adjourned till tomorrow.
