PM grieved over death of Balochistan Minister Sarfaraz Domki

ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed his deep grief over the death of Balochistan Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Sarfaraz Chakar Domki.

“By the death of Sardar Sarfaraz Domki, Balochistan’s politics has become bereft of an intellectual and a seasoned politician. We share the grief of his family,” the prime minister remarked.

He prayed to Allah Almighty for peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.

KP govt directs all departments to hold Milad ul Nabi (SAW) programs

PESHAWAR, Sep 16 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administration Department in a notification issued here on Monday directed all additional chief secretaries, administrative secretaries and heads of government departments to arrange programs for observance of Milad ul Nabi (SAW).
The notification directed all the Divisional Commissioners, deputy commissioners of KP and heads of attached departments to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, government of Pakistan.

30 new dengue patients in last 24 hrs

RAWALPINDI, Sep 16 (APP):Total number of dengue patients has reached 368 in Rawalpindi as 30 new cases have been reported during last 24 hours.
According to the latest report released by the District Health Authority, the largest number of cases were reported from Pothohar Town and Municipal Corporation areas with 11 positive cases from each, during the last 24 hours.
The report reveals that Chak Jalal Din area remains among top affected areas of the city.
The health authority sources informed APP that various measures were underway in most affected areas. Besides awareness campaigns and anti-dengue spraying, CM Mobile Health Unit also visited Chak Jalal Din and co ducted a number of pathological tests of the area residents including CBC, LFTs, RFTs etc. The health unit also examined 216 patients during its stay at the affected areas.
The report further reveals that 65% of the dengue cases reported in Rawalpindi district are men, making the gender ratio of patients as 2 to 1 with respect to male vs female patients.
The financial penalties worth Rs.13.0 million have been imposed since Jan 2024 along with a number of registered FIRs and chalans against SOPs violators.
The comparative analysis given in the report shows that punitive actions taken against the violations this year are 4 times more than those of the year 2023. Similarly, the average of confirmed positive cases has also declined significantly as compared to that of the previous year’s.

All set to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi with religious fervour

LAHORE, Sep 16 (APP):Like other parts of the country, Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) will be celebrated with religious fervour and devotion on September 17 in the provincial capital.
The government has announced a public holiday across the country in this
connection.
To mark the day, various seminars, conferences and Naat gatherings would be organised to shed light on the life and teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) while processions will also be taken out in the city.
Public and private buildings, streets, markets and mosques have been decorated tastefully with fascinating lights, green flags and lanterns, arches and decorative doors have also been installed in many markets, avenues and highways.
The lovers are expressing their devotion to the holy Prophet (PBUH) by making beautiful models of Kaaba and Masjid Nabvi.
The Punjab Police have finalized foolproof security arrangements to mark the event. More than 55,000 officers and staff would be deployed for security of 1,581 meetings and 2,467 processions across the province.
According to Punjab Police data, 255 processions and more than 225 Milad gatherings would be held in Lahore on Eid Milad-un-Nabi, while more than 10,000 officers, officials and volunteers would perform security duties in the city.

CDNS to attain mark of Rs 180 billion in fresh bonds

ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP):The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has realized a target of Rs 180 billion in fresh bonds and achieved 10.3 percent of the annual target in the first months of current fiscal year, from July 1 to September 14th.
The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has set an annual target of Rs 1650 billion for the current Fiscal Year, 2024-25, which will promote the saving culture in the country, the senior official of CDNS told APP here Monday.
Similarly, the CDNS has set a target of Rs 170 billion in investment in Islamic finance for the Current Fiscal Year, which will lead to growth in the Islamic economy in the country.
Replying to a question, he said that the CDNS has realized a target of Rs1.742 trillion in fresh bonds and exceeded 100 percent of the annual target in the last fiscal year 2023-24, from July 1 to June 30th.
National Savings has set an annual target of Rs 1.7 trillion for the year 2023-24; it is encouraging that this year, “We surpassed the 100 percent of the annual target.”
CDNS surpassed the annual target and achieved the target of Rs 1.6 trillion in fresh bonds in the previous fiscal year 2022-23, he said.
He said this was an Rs 200 billion additional annual target than the target of Rs 1300 billion for the previous financial year 2021-22.
CDNS has set a reviewed saving target of Rs 1.4 trillion for the financial year (2021-22) which will promote a savings culture in the country, he said, adding that given the current market trend in the country, the ambitious target had been set to improve the savings culture further.
The official said that work was being done on institutional reforms in CDNS and new reforms and innovations were being introduced. At this time Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has also been introduced in CDNS which will provide enough facilities to the users,” he added.
The official added that the directorate had set a target of Rs 75 billion for the new financial year 2023-24 for Islamic finance bonds. Replying to a question; he said the CDNS aimed to introduce new dimensions in the Islamic finance sector.
Islamic finance has a very important role in the global financial sector at this time and a large part of the economy of many major countries currently includes Islamic finance,” he added.

He said that Sardar Sarfraz Chakar Domki’s services  to Pakistan  People’s Party will always be remembered.
He prayed  to elevate the status of late Sarfaraz Domki and grant patience to the bereaved family members.

Wildlife department foils crane smuggling attempt

PESHAWAR, Sep 16 (APP):The Department of Climate Change, Forests, Environment, and Wildlife Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 78 cranes from Balochistan.
According to the department’s spokesperson, wildlife officials seized the cranes at the Sikandar Check Post in South Waziristan and initiated legal action.
The suspect, who was transferring the cranes in a  vehicle, has been apprehended, and the seized cranes will be transferred to the Dera Ismail Khan Zoo.
