Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar visits Daanish School construction site

ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 (APP):Parliamentary Secretary, Farah Naz Akbar visited the construction site of the Daanish School Islamabad on Thursday, a flagship initiative launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to provide quality education to underprivileged children.
She praised the steady progress and high construction standards maintained throughout the project.
She commended the Ministry’s Project Management Unit, consultants, and contractors for their professionalism, dedication, and efficiency.
Farah Naz Akbar noted that the timely development of the Daanish School Islamabad exemplifies the government’s strong commitment to educational reform and inclusive national growth.
The project, overseen by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) through its Project Management Unit, began on 14 January 2025.
Within just four months, the structural work has been completed, and the school has now entered the renovation and finishing phase.
Once completed, Daanish School Islamabad is expected to serve as a model of excellence—providing free, high-quality education, modern facilities, and a supportive learning environment to students from marginalized communities.
The institution aims to help bridge educational gaps and empower the next generation for future success.

ECP notifies Hina Arshad Warraich’s victory in PP-52 Sialkot by-polls

ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 (APP):The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially notified Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Hina Arshad Warraich as winner of the PP-52 Sialkot by-election, solidifying her position in the Punjab Assembly.
Warraich secured a commanding victory, defeating her closest rival, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Fakhir Nishat Ghumman in a closely watched contest.
The by-election was necessitated following the demise of Chaudhry Arshad Warraich, Hina’s father, who had won the seat in the February 8 general elections on a PML-N ticket.
With this victory, PML-N further strengthens its hold in Punjab, with analysts viewing Warraich’s success as a significant political gain for the party.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 (APP):Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has observed that access to Central Asian countries, Europe & Russia through rail and road connectivity is a game changer.
He emphasized that improving communication infrastructure is a key priority to achieve economic growth and meaningful discussions are underway with various countries in this regard.
He expressed these views during a meeting with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kistafin who called on him here on Thursday, said a press release.
The meeting included an in-depth discussion on matters of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation and the outcomes of the recent Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit.
Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted that strengthened partnerships between major South Asian Countries will yield positive results. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to playing a proactive role on all international platforms and expressed optimism about a brighter economic and financial outlook for the country in the coming days.
Ambassador Kistafin conveyed his goodwill gesture and congratulated Abdul Aleem Khan and the entire Pakistani nation on their success in the recent war with India.
He acknowledged Pakistan’s distinguished status in the Islamic World and expressed his nation’s continued prayers and support. He also extended Eid-ul-Azha greetings and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to offering all possible support to Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to both promoting local manufacturing and driving export-led growth through improved facilitation under the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS).
The deputy prime minister chaired a high-level meeting to review the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS), with a focus on enhancing transparency and making it more equitable, a DPM’s Office news release said.
During the meeting, key recommendations were proposed to make the scheme more effective and better aligned with the national agenda for export growth and protection of local industry.
