Pakistan expresses deep sorrow over Turkish aircraft crash

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP): The Government of Pakistan on Tuesday expressed deepest sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the Government and the brotherly people of the Republic of Türkiye on the tragic crash of a C-130 cargo aircraft near the Georgia–Azerbaijan border.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan conveyed its profound sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.

“We extend our profound sympathies to the families of all those who lost their lives in this tragic incident. In this difficult hour, Pakistan stands in full solidarity with its Turkish brothers and sisters, sharing their grief and offering prayers for the souls of the departed, and for strength and patience for the bereaved families,” the statement added.

Commissioner, RPO inspect security arrangements during Pak–Sri Lanka ODI

RAWALPINDI, Nov 11 (APP): Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Aamir Khattak, accompanied by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa, on Tuesday inspected the security arrangements during the first Pakistan–Sri Lanka One Day International at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

According to an RPO spokesperson, the two officials reviewed the deployment around the stadium, where Alpa directed officers and personnel to remain fully alert while performing security duties.
The RPO said public confidence was the police force’s greatest strength, adding that ensuring a safe environment for cricket fans and players was a top priority.
He further instructed officers and personnel at duty points to maintain public-friendly conduct and uphold professionalism throughout the match.
The two teams will play the second and third ODIs of their three-match series at the same venue on November 13 and 15.

Rawalpindi Bar Association expresses solidarity with Islamabad lawyers

RAWALPINDI, November 11 (APP): The Rawalpindi District Bar Association (RDBA) on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic loss of lives in the Islamabad Judicial Complex blast, standing in full solidarity with the lawyers affected by the deadly attack.
In a joint statement, RDBA President Sardar Manzar Bashir Khan and General Secretary Malik Asad Mehmood condemned the incident, terming it a cowardly act of terrorism targeting members of the legal fraternity. They expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
“The blood of the martyrs of the Islamabad courts will not go in vain,” the statement read, emphasizing that the association stands shoulder to shoulder with its fellow lawyers during this time of grief.
The RDBA leaders voiced strong concern over the recurring attacks on lawyers and demanded that strict legal action be taken against the perpetrators. The association urged authorities to strengthen security arrangements around the Rawalpindi courts to ensure the safety of lawyers.
“Protecting the lives and property of Rawalpindi’s lawyers is among our top priorities,” the statement added.

Pakistan Pavilion inaugurated at 44th Sharjah International Book Fair 2025

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP): Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad on Tuesday inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 held at the Sharjah Expo Centre.

Located in Hall No. 6 – Stand N1, the Pakistan Pavilion showcases Pakistan’s rich literary and publishing heritage, according to a press release received here.

Several renowned Pakistani publishers, including Qudrat Ullah Publications, recognized for its exceptional editions of the Holy Qur’an, Zia-ul-Quran Publications, and Paramount Books are participating in the fair.

Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General deeply appreciated the participation of Pakistani publishers and exhibitors in this prestigious international event. He remarked that such platforms provide an excellent opportunity to highlight the diverse literary traditions, cultural richness, and creative potential of Pakistan.

Hussain Muhammad also paid rich tribute to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and other leaders of the Emirate for their visionary efforts in promoting art, culture, literature, and academic excellence at both regional and international levels.

During his visit, the Consul General toured various official pavilions, including those of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Government of Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi, among others.

He also commended Sarmad Khan of Urdu World Books for establishing a dedicated stall to promote Pakistani literature and publications. PM visits residence of late Senator Irfan Siddiqui, offers heartfelt condolences

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the residence of senior Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and distinguished intellectual, late Senator Irfan Siddiqui to offer his condolences to his family.

During his visit, the prime minister met with the late senator’s eldest son, Imran Siddiqui, and other family members to offer his condolences and sympathy. On the occasion, the prime minister also offered Fateha for the departed soul.

He prayed for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks in Jannah and for patience and strength for the bereaved family.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, paying tribute to the late senator’s political and national services, said “Irfan Siddiqui was a refined, and dignified personality who left a deep mark on the intellectual and political history of the country.”

“Senator Irfan Siddiqui was a symbol of loyalty and a shining star on Pakistan’s intellectual and journalistic horizon,” the prime minister remarked.

He said the late Irfan Siddiqui was a long-time companion of Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and a devoted member of the party.

“He shared a bond of mutual respect with me and was a man of great compassion,” the prime minister said adding “Irfan Siddiqui set an example of principled, tolerant, patient, and dignified politics in every era”.

Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi accompanied the prime minister.

KP IGP awards police officers for outstanding performance against terrorism, crime

PESHAWAR, Nov 11 (APP):Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed on Tuesday awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates to police officers and personnel from Peshawar, Bannu, DI Khan, and Lower Dir for their exceptional performance in operations against terrorists, target killers, murderers, and robbers.
The awards ceremony was held here at the Central Police Office (CPO).
According to details, the Special Investigation Team of Peshawar Police successfully solved the blind murder case of Safdar Khan, PASI, by using modern scientific investigation techniques. The team not only arrested the culprits but also recovered the weapon used in the crime.
Similarly, the Peshawar Police’s Ababeel Squad skillfully arrested a dangerous Afghan national involved in murder, attempted murder, and snatching incidents. The squad also recovered the weapon and motorcycle used in the crimes.
In Bannu, police personnel displayed extraordinary courage and professionalism in repelling a terrorist attack on the FC Lines, neutralizing several terrorists during the operation.
Meanwhile, DI Khan Police bravely thwarted a terrorist assault including suicide attacks on the Police Training School on October 10, 2025.
The police killed the attackers and seized heavy and light weapons, hand grenades, and wireless sets from their possession.
In another achievement, the Lower Dir Police solved a blind murder case within a short period through scientific investigation, successfully tracing and arresting those involved.
Officers and personnel from the IT Wing at the Central Police Office were also honored for their outstanding technical performance.
Addressing the ceremony, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed commended the courage and dedication of the police officers, saying that such events were vital to recognizing and appreciating their services.
He stated that the KP Police have been performing their duties with exceptional bravery, commitment, and professionalism earning respect and pride for the department.
The IGP praised the police for maintaining high standards despite difficult circumstances and urged the award recipients to further intensify their efforts to completely eliminate terrorism from the province.
He congratulated the awardees and expressed hope that they would continue to serve with the same spirit and dedication.
Additional IGPs including Operations Muhammad Ali Baba Khel, Investigation Alam Shinwari, Headquarters Ahsan Abbas, Elite Muhammad Ali Gandapur, Internal Accountability Akhtar Abbas, DIG Tele Irfan Tariq, Principal Staff Officer to IGP Imran Khan, and Director Public Relations Shehzada Kokab Farooq were also present at the ceremony.

FCCI, NIC-UAF to strengthen collaboration for youth entrepreneurship, skills development

FAISALABAD, Nov 11 (APP):University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF)’s National Incubation Center (NIC) Manager Madam Aimen Shahid has visited Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) and held a detailed meeting with FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh to explore avenues for enhancing mutual cooperation in entrepreneurship and skills development.
During the meeting, President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh appreciated the NIC’s initiatives for equipping youth with entrepreneurial and technological skills. He said that the center is playing pivotal role in developing a skilled human resource in the field of information technology. He assured that FCCI would extend support by facilitating internships for trained youth in relevant industrial sectors to help them gain practical experience and refine their professional abilities.
He highlighted the importance of inclusivity and said that women often lag behind in the race of progress. He stressed the need for active encouragement and opportunities to make them part of the mainstream development process.
He advised Madam Aimen Shahid to submit written recommendations on how to better align graduates of the incubation center with industrial and commercial needs. He also proposed the formation of a special youth committee to strengthen coordination and ensure sustainable outcomes from joint initiatives.
Announcing his vision for promoting local industry, Farooq Yousaf Sheikh revealed plans to organize a “Made in Faisalabad Expo” to showcase industrial and business potential of the city.

CM Punjab, former New Zealand PM inaugurate Pakistan Pavilion at COP-30 conference in Brazil

LAHORE, Nov 11 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif along with former Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the COP-30 Conference in Brazil.
The Punjab government has established the pavilion to showcase its environmental initiatives and its commitment to sustainable development, said a handout issued here on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Jacinda Ardern jointly cut the ribbon to formally open the pavilion. Jacinda Ardern is serving as the Special Representative for Pacific Nations at the COP-30 Conference.
During the inaugural ceremony, the two leaders viewed a documentary highlighting the Punjab government’s environmental improvement initiatives. Jacinda Ardern commended the government’s eco-friendly measures and its dedicated efforts to combat pollution.
Later, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with Jacinda Ardern in which they exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and discussed strategies to address global environmental challenges. The CM briefed her on Punjab’s comprehensive strategy to tackle environmental issues and promote green development.

KP CM condemns terrorist attack on Wana Cadet College

PESHAWAR, Nov 11 (APP):Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Wana Cadet College, calling it a cowardly act to target innocent students and educational institutions.
Afridi reaffirmed that the provincial government is determined to completely eliminate terrorism from the province.
He announced that a “Peace Jirga” will be held in the Provincial Assembly on Wednesday, bringing together political, religious, and tribal leaders to discuss strategies for lasting peace.
Meanwhile, the CM also condemned the suicide blast near the District Judicial Complex in Islamabad, terming it a tragic and condemnable incident.
He said that such cowardly attacks cannot shake the nation’s resolve and that every act of terrorism only strengthens national unity and the commitment to peace.
Afridi added that the sacrifices of citizens and security forces will not go in vain, vowing to pursue the enemies of peace wherever they are.
