Court rejects Ducky Bhai’s plea for return of YouTube channel, mobile phones

LAHORE, Dec 23 (APP): A local court on Tuesday dismissed the request of YouTuber Saad Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, seeking the return of his seized items, including YouTube channel and mobile phones, on superdari.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Watto announced the verdict on the application filed by Ducky Bhai.
However, the court ordered the return of 19 items recovered during a thorough search from accused and directed that they be handed over to the YouTuber.
According to the court order, the items to be returned include bank cards, identity cards, a laptop bag, a GoPro camera, and other personal belongings. The court had earlier reserved its decision after hearing arguments from counsel representing both sides.
Ducky Bhai had approached the court seeking superdari of the seized items, including his digital assets and mobile devices.

Over 2,300 police officials to provide security cover at churches, other worship places

FAISALABAD, Dec 23 (APP): The district police have deployed over 2,300 police officials at Churches and other Christian worship places to maintain law and order on Christmas.
According to a police spokesperson here Tuesday, 60 SIs, 280 ASIs, 168 head-constables and 1814 constables have been deployed for security cover.
At least 17 pickets will be set up, while 44 mobile vehicles, 88 eagle squad motorcycle teams, 32 dolphin teams and 8 elite force teams will conduct patrolling in Christian localities.
The monitoring of security arrangements will be made through CCTV cameras and four reserve force teams will remain standby at police lines to cope with any untoward situation.
No negligence or carelessness will be tolerated in duty, while aerial firing, zigzag driving and one-wheeling will not be allowed as stern action will be taken indiscriminately, the spokesman added.

M-Tag drive accelerates in Islamabad, 90,164 vehicles tagged since Nov 14

ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (APP): The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration’s M-Tag drive has gained pace as the city issued 90,164 tags since November 14, including 1,660 in the last 24 hours.
According to the spokesman of ICT administration, three additional M-Tag issuance points have been established and are now fully operational to facilitate vehicle owners.
The initiative aims to ensure smooth traffic flow on major roads and promote automated toll and entry systems in the federal capital. By expanding the number of service points, the administration intends to reduce waiting time for users and make the process more accessible throughout the city.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad stated that once M-Tag readers become fully functional, the process of vehicle identification will formally commence across the capital. He urged citizens to get their vehicles M-Tagged at the earliest to avoid any inconvenience or legal action.

Commissioner Karachi visits under-construction Karimabad underpass

KARACHI, Dec 23 (APP): Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (Central) Taha Salim, visited the under-construction site of Karimabad underpass on Tuesday to inspect the progress of the work. KDA engineer Junaid Ahmed Siddiqui gave a detailed briefing on the project to the commissioner.
The Commissioner was informed that 85 % of the work has been completed, but the relocation of K-Electric lines needs to be expedited. Once the lines are shifted, the project will be finished within one month. The Commissioner also inspected the K-Electric relocation work and called a meeting with K-Electric management at his office on Wednesday to prioritize and accelerate the line relocation.
The Commissioner directed Deputy Commissioner (Central) Taha Salim to guide the concerned officers in speeding up the work and to ensure that all hindrances are removed so the project can be completed without further delay. He noted that the delays are causing traffic difficulties and affecting commercial activities.

3 convicted for killing three women, two more sentenced to death in another case

MULTAN, Dec 23 (APP): Deciding two murder cases including one relating to murder of three women, sessions courts in Multan on Tuesday convicted five accused, awarding death penalty to three of them while remaining two including a woman received life imprisonment.
According to police spokesman, an Additional District and Sessions Judge, deciding the triple murder case of PS Mumtazabad, awarded death sentence to one accused Zahid Hussain for killing three women Shamshad Akhtar, Nasreen Akhtar and Samia Akhtar. He was also awarded 10-year jail with a direction to pay Rs 2.5 million to legal heirs of the deceased women. His co-accused Abdul Ghafoor and Kiran Masih were also found guilty of killing three women, and were awarded life imprisonment. They both were also sentenced to 10-year jail and directed to pay Rs 1 million each to legal heirs of the deceased women.
Deciding another murder case of PS Chalyak, a sessions court awarded death penalty to two accused.
According to the prosecution, the Additional District and Sessions Judge awarded capital punishment for accused Muhammad Nadeem and Sher Ali, after they were found guilty of murdering Amir Shehzad.
Both the convicts were also directed to pay Rs 3 million each to the legal heirs of deceased Amir Shahzad.
Police officials said Multan police remain committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and to bringing criminals to justice through effective investigation and prosecution.
