Punjab CM’s decision regarding budget hailed

LAHORE, Jun 13 (APP): Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Coordinator Saif-ur-Rehman Friday hailed the decision of Punjab Chief Minister to present a pro-poor and development-oriented budget.
Talking to traders delegation, led by Mian Azhar Shaukat here, he also welcomed the decision to broaden tax net  instead of imposing new taxes.
The coordinator said, this approach would promote economic stability, ease the burden on existing taxpayers, and support business growth across the province.
He added that expanding the tax base is a sustainable strategy to enhance revenues  without overburdening compliant businesses. He appreciated the provincial government’s vision in addressing fiscal challenges while encouraging documentation and transparency within the economy.
He urged the government to ensure effective implementation of this policy by investing in digital infrastructure and tax awareness campaigns. He expressed confidence that such progressive steps would help create a more equitable tax system and contribute to the long-term development of Punjab’s economy.

KP lawmaker submits requisition after Governor’s refusal; assembly session called

PESHAWAR, Jun 13 (APP):Following the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor’s refusal to summon provincial assembly session, members of the KP Assembly on Friday submitted a formal requisition to the speaker to convene the provincial assembly.
Speaker KP assembly accepted the requisition submitted by MPA Sher Ali Afridi and officially summoned the session under article 54 (3) read with article 127 of the constitution.
The move comes amid growing political activity in the province and reflects the lawmakers’ intent to proceed with legislative business despite the Governor’s decision.

PM orders all help for Pakistani pilgrims in Iran

LAHORE, Jun 13 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday directed all relevant authorities to provide every possible assistance for the safe return and protection of Pakistani pilgrims currently in Iran.
In the light of the Prime Minister’s directives, a Crisis Management Cell has been established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to monitor the situation and coordinate efforts. The Pakistani Embassy in Iran has also been instructed to remain vigilant and actively assist the pilgrims.
The prime minister emphasised that immediate and effective measures must be taken to ensure the safety of all Pakistani nationals in Iran. He further instructed that all available resources be utilised to facilitate their safe and prompt return to Pakistan.
He directed that until the regional situation normalises, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistani diplomatic mission in Iran will remain on high alert, ensuring continued support and communication with the pilgrims.

Awais Shah strongly condemns Israeli attack on Iran

KARACHI, Jun 13 (APP):Acting Governor and Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, has strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack on Iran.
In a statement  issued from Sindh Assembly Secretariat, Syed Awais Qadir Shah said that Israel’s unprovoked assault on Iran is a grave violation of international law.
He emphasized that such acts of aggression pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
The Acting Governor also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives in Iran and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

Govt provides wheelchairs, assistive devices to disabled citizens

RAWALPINDI, Jun 13 (APP):The Punjab Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Department distributed assistive devices and wheelchairs among persons with disabilities during the second phase of its aid program, held at a local hotel here on Thursday.
According to the details, a total of 169 persons with disabilities received mobility aids across Rawalpindi district. The distribution included 154 adult wheelchairs, 8 pediatric wheelchairs, 2 rollators, 2 arm crutches and 3 white canes.
Parliamentarians including Tahira Aurangzeb, Qamar ul Islam, Malik Ibrar, Riffat Abbasi and other political and social figures attended the ceremony, along with a large number of persons with disabilities and their family members.
Speaking at the event, MNA Qamar ul Islam said that under CM Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, Punjab is progressing rapidly. We’re fortunate to have leadership that cares for every member of society and works to improve their lives.
Tahira Aurangzeb highlighted that the initiative aims to enhance mobility and make life easier for persons with physical disabilities.
 “These individuals possess remarkable capabilities and intelligence. Our priority is to improve their quality of life and integrate them as active members of society”, she said.
It is worth mentioning that the citizens can apply for the program through www.adwc.punjab.gov.pk.

China offers constructive role in helping to ease Israel-Iran situation: Lin Jian

BEIJING, Jun 13 (APP)::China opposes any actions that infringe upon Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, as well as any efforts to escalate tensions and expand conflicts, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian said on Friday.
In response to a question during his regular briefing about Israel’s attack on multiple targets within Iran early this morning, Lin Jian expressed that China is paying close attention to the Israeli attack on Iran and is deeply concerned about the possible severe consequences of such actions.
China opposes any actions that infringe upon Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, as well as any actions that exacerbate tensions and widen conflicts, he added.
He said that the sudden escalation of the regional situation does not serve the interests of any party.
China calls on all parties concerned to do more to promote regional peace and stability and to avoid further escalation of tensions.
China is willing to play a constructive role in helping to ease the situation, he added.
