Police arrest 10 outlaws in operation

TANDO MUHAMMAD KHAN, Jul 21 (APP):The district police  on Monday booked 10 outlaws including three women and recovered drugs and illegal weapons in an operation launched against drug mafia.
SSP, Tando Muhammad Khan Reader, Mumtaz Khaskhali told APP that on the direction of SSP, the  Malakatayar police arrested a proclaimed offender namely Rashid and recovered  a pistol and three cartridges from his possession.
The Balri Shah police arrested a drug peddler identified as Muhammad Hayat Sand and recovered hashish 250 grams from him, he said, adding his accomplice namely Hakim Jat managed to escaper from the scene.
The Tehsil Police arrested three women identified as Fatima Hajano, Fehmida Hajano and Hjiani Hajano and recovered 8 packets gutka from them.
The police team also arrested a man, Rajab Ali Najwani and recovered liquor 98 liters from his custody.
The B section Police, Tando Muhammad Khan arrested a cannabis Supplier, Ahmed Khan Khaskhali  and sized cannabis 5 Kg from his possession.
A team of Abadgar Police station raided a distillery and arrested its owner Ayub Mallah and seized liquor 145 liters.
A team of city Police Station, Tando Muhammad Khan led by its SHO arrested Asghar Sheikh and Mitho Mugsi and recovered anti-health 750 poria from them .
The police registered cases against the accused and launched further Investigations .

Police Khidmat Marakiz assist 1.97m citizens by July 2025

LAHORE, Jul 21 (APP):Punjab Police Khidmat Marakiz have so far provided digital policing
services to more than 1.97 million citizens across the province during 2025.
A spokesperson for Punjab Police said on Monday, over 871,000 citizens availed general police verification services, while more than 490,000 received police character certificates.
More than 221,000 people completed tenant registration and 96,972 citizens obtained medico-legal certificates.
Under initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable segments of society, 78,928 individuals were provided with legal and social protection.
Additionally, 25,240 citizens carried out vehicle verification, while 50,683 cases of lost document registration and 2,775 crime reports were processed.
The spokesperson further stated that more than 105,000 copies of FIRs
were issued to applicants, while 32 cases of violence against women were officially registered.
Meanwhile, 29,754 individuals completed employee registration under the Registration of Private Employees (ROPE) system and 1,810 police verifications were carried out for private sector employment.
Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar described
Khidmat Marakiz as a flagship initiative of the department, providing
round-the-clock services to the public.
“Millions of citizens across Punjab, including Lahore, are benefiting from
these facilities each month,” the IG said added “We continue to enhance
and upgrade our services based on citizen feedback.”

E-filing system functional down to deputy director level in HED south Punjab

MULTAN, Jul 21 (APP):E-Filing system has been made functional from secretariat of Higher Education Department (HED) South Punjab down to the offices of deputy directors to improve efficiency, bring transparency and revolutionize record-keeping.
These observations were made at a training session for effective utilization of e-filing system, held at the committee room of HED south Punjab, chaired by special secretary HED south Punjab Sarfraz Ahmad.
Focal person Amir Malik told the participants that e-filing system could revolutionize functioning in any of the government department, adding that in HED south Punjab it had been made functional at deputy directors offices and would further go down to the lower offices, paving the way for promotion of digital system in governance.
Special Secretary HED south Punjab, Sarfraz Ahmad said that e-filing system was a step towards embracing modern trends in offices’ functioning and declared it mandatory for transparency, swift response, and file tracking. He ordered officials to ensure effective enforcement of the system.

Punjab home secy reviews PFSA overhaul, urges swift upgrades

LAHORE, Jul 21 (APP):Punjab Home Secretary Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi here on Monday visited the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) and chaired a high-level meeting focused on the agency’s performance and future goals.
During the briefing, PFSA Director General Dr Muhammad Amjad, informed the home
secretary that PFSA was undergoing a major upgrade, with the procurement of modern
equipment worth Rs 4.5 billion.
The initiative aims to replace outdated machinery with 700 state-of-the-art forensic
instruments.
Additionally, the recruitment process for 77 new scientists across various departments
was currently underway.
Dr Amjad also highlighted that PFSA was an internationally accredited institution
recognized by the Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC), with its reports
in fields like DNA analysis, firearms, narcotics, fingerprints, document examination,
toxicology and audio-video analysis accepted as credible references worldwide.
Over 200 PFSA scientists have received international training through globally
recognized institutions.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Home Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi stated that global
recognition of PFSA’s forensic results was a matter of pride for Pakistan.
He emphasized the need for completing the agency’s modernization and extension
programme strictly on merit and directed that all scientists be provided with international
training opportunities.
Dr Qazi called for measures to prevent brain drain in the forensic science sector and
recommended offering market-based incentives to retain highly skilled professionals.
He instructed the swift completion of Evidence Receiving Units in Mianwali, Rahim Yar
Khan and Toba Tek Singh, and also urged expedited construction of the Crime Scene
Unit in Gujrat, similar to those established in other Punjab divisions.
The PFSA should strengthen its DNA database, as it would help in the swift apprehension
of criminal elements, he added.
PFSA Director General Dr. Muhammad Amjad, DG Punjab Agriculture, Food & Drug Authority,
Additional DG Forensics, Additional Secretary Police and other senior officials attended
the meeting.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Orders Major Reforms in FIA During Visit to Headquarters

ISLAMABAD, Jul 21 (APP):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the FIA Headquarters in Islamabad, where he paid tribute to the martyrs of the agency by laying a floral wreath and offering prayers at the Martyrs’ Monument.
During his visit, the minister chaired a high-level meeting and issued a series of directives aimed at overhauling the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He announced plans for a complete reorganization of the agency on modern lines and called for a comprehensive reform plan.
Naqvi approved the immediate provision of modern technology and essential weaponry to the FIA, emphasizing that the agency must meet public expectations and deliver results. He said future incentives for the FIA would be based on performance.
Calling for a zero-tolerance policy, the minister directed a ruthless crackdown on mafias involved in illegal immigration and stressed the agency’s responsibility to protect the country’s reputation.
He also ordered the simplification of immigration procedures at airports and the establishment of fast-track counters for the convenience of citizens.
To address staff shortages, Naqvi directed immediate hiring against all approved vacant posts. He also demanded a master plan for the renovation of the FIA Headquarters and ordered the relocation of the FIA Academy to newly allocated land. The minister further instructed early restoration of the Karachi Zonal Office.
DG FIA Raja Riffat Mukhtar briefed the minister on the agency’s ongoing reforms. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Interior Secretary, CDA Chairman, and senior FIA officials were also present.

Two children among three injured in firing incident

LOWER DIR, Jul 21 (APP):In an incident of firing in Mianar Bazaar here, two children and one adult got injured on Monday.
The violence reportedly stemmed from a domestic dispute between an uncle and his nephew.
Rescue 1122 medical teams responded promptly, providing first aid on the scene before transferring the injured to Timergara Hospital for further treatment.
The injured have been identified as Abu Zar, 7-year, Muhammad Waleed 9-year and Ishaq, 35-year.
According to local police, the firing was the result of a family conflict. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Four Suspects Killed in Police Encounter near Sukkur

SUKKUR, Jul 21 (APP):In a dramatic turn of events, four alleged robbers were shot dead in a reported police encounter during a late-night search operation in Pano Aqil, Sukkur district. The encounter followed a fatal robbery incident that claimed the lives of three young men.
According to SSP Sukkur Azhar Mughal, the police responded swiftly to the robbery, which occurred when armed robbers opened fire on three young men who resisted their attempt. Two victims died on the spot, while the third succumbed to injuries later in the hospital.
During the search operation, suspects allegedly opened fire on police, prompting retaliation that resulted in the deaths of four suspects believed to be involved in the robbery. Police recovered weapons from the scene and are investigating the identities and criminal records of the slain suspects.

DC & SSP Khairpur Visit Mourning Procession Route

SUKKUR, Jul 21 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Khairpur, Fayyaz Hussain Rahujo, and SSP Khairpur, Mir Hassan Sardar Niazi on Monday visited the route of the mourning procession to be held on 25th Muharram-ul-Haram in Babarloi.
During their visit, they were accompanied by other administrative officers. The DC and SSP reviewed the security, sanitation, lighting, and other arrangements for the procession.
DC Rahujo emphasized that all necessary steps would be taken to maintain law and order during the Muharram processions. SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi assured that the police were fully alert and would not allow any mischief.
The officials’ visit aimed to ensure a peaceful and smooth procession, reflecting the administration’s commitment to providing a secure environment for the mourners.

Punjab Police hold weekly general parades across province

LAHORE, Jul 21 (APP):The Punjab Police(PP) on Monday conducted weekly general parades in the province,including Lahore with active participation from various specialized units and senior officers overseeing the proceedings.
According to a spokesperson,personnel from Police Lines,Dolphin Force,Anti-Riot Force,Traffic Police,Mujahid Squad, Special Protection Unit (SPU), Lady Police,Organized Crime Unit,Investigation Wing and Operations Wing participated.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police,the parades were being conducted regularly every Monday across all districts to ensure alertness,discipline and unity within the police ranks.
Inspection of district officers’ quarters,Motor Transport Wing,miscellaneous stores,uniform depots and other sections was also carried out.
Inspector General of Police (IGP),Dr Usman Anwar said that the parade serves to maintain physical fitness among officers and personnel,while also showcasing the discipline,heritage and traditions of the Punjab Police.
“Parades are a reflection of discipline and coordination in any force,”added IGP.

Sindh CM Condemns Firing Incident in Khairpur, Seeks Immediate Action

SUKKUR, Jul 21 (APP):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has strongly condemned the firing incident in Khairpur, which resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals, including a father and son.
The CM expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, describing the incident as extremely regrettable and unacceptable, said a release issued here on Monday.
Syed Murad Ali Shah directed the Khairpur administration to devise an effective strategy to prevent such incidents, which are often rooted in enmity. He instructed the authorities to take concrete measures to curb such violence.
The CM has sought an immediate report on the incident from the Inspector General of Police and has ordered the swift arrest of the culprits involved. He also directed that the affected families be provided with full protection and support.
