Quaid’s principles of faith,unity,discipline vital for progress:CPWB Chairperson

LAHORE, Dec 25 (APP):Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Chairperson Sarah Ahmad on Thursday said that Pakistan came into existence as a result of the tireless efforts and visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
In her special message issued on the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam,Sarah Ahmad said that due to his struggle and sacrifices,the people of Pakistan today enjoy religious freedom and the right to live in accordance with Islamic principles.
She said that December 25 is a day to renew the national pledge to follow Quaid-i-Azam’s guiding principles of Faith,Unity and Discipline,which continue to serve as the foundation for a strong and cohesive nation.
Highlighting the constitutional vision of the founder of the nation,Sarah Ahmad said that Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had envisioned a society rooted in democratic values,social justice and equality for all citizens, irrespective of religion or background.
She stressed that the thoughts and ideals of Quaid-i-Azam must be adopted as a guiding light to transform Pakistan into a great and prosperous country.
She said that adherence to these principles would help strengthen national unity,promote harmony and ensure sustainable development.
The chairperson added that in accordance with Quaid-i-Azam’s vision, all segments of society must work collectively and responsibly to contribute to the construction,development and progress of Pakistan.
She called upon the nation,particularly the younger generation,to draw inspiration from Quaid-i-Azam’s life and leadership and play an active role in shaping a peaceful,democratic and prosperous Pakistan.

Ministers of PML-N and PPP Senators aud appl2025 as a historic year for Pakistan’s global standing and ‘diplomatic success’

 ISLAMABAD, Dec 25 (APP):PML-N Ministers and PPP Senators welcomed ‘The Winners and Losers of Trump’s New Foreign Policy’ as a diplomatic achievement for Pakistan, pointing to strengthened regional relations, enhanced military stature and the success of PM Shehbaz Sharif’s narrative in challenging India’s claims.
 While speaking exclusively to media channels, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif commended recent newspaper reports that identify Pakistan as a major beneficiary of the global shift in foreign policy.
Minister emphasized that the country has emerged as a strategic force on the international stage, capitalizing on evolving dynamics and strengthening its diplomatic, military and economic position in the global arena.
He noted that the policy has bolstered Pakistan’s diplomatic position, as well as its military and economic standing, especially amid ongoing tensions with India.
The global recognition of Pakistan’s role in the region, particularly in its efforts against Afghanistan and India, reflects the country’s increasing influence on the international stage, Asif added.
The Defense Minister further emphasized that Pakistan’s successful strategies have exposed India’s misleading narratives globally, leading to diplomatic, military and economic victories.
He also acknowledged U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Pakistan’s strategic importance, especially in promoting regional peace and stability.
Asif affirmed that Pakistan’s efforts in countering terrorism and addressing regional issues have solidified its position as a key player in global security.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for his key role in strengthening Pakistan’s relations with the United States, Saudi Arabia and other countries, while also acknowledging PM Shehbaz Sharif’s policies for driving the nation’s diplomatic, military and economic success.
Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Bilal Azhar Kayani also praised ‘The Diplomat for naming 2025 as a pivotal year for Pakistan’, calling it a major diplomatic success.
He highlighted the country’s strategic comeback, strengthened military confidence and improved global standing as key achievements reflecting Pakistan’s growing influence on the international stage.
He said, according to The Diplomat, Pakistan re-emerged as a focal point of international attention in 2025 after several years, driven largely by decisive military leadership and a clear state narrative against extremism.
He hailed Pakistan’s leadership role in combating terrorism, acknowledging President Trump’s cooperation and the global recognition of the country’s efforts in promoting regional stability and countering extremism.
He stated that this year marks the culmination of Pakistan’s success, with clear evidence of the country’s achievements in diplomacy, security, and global recognition.
Senator Bushra Anjum and PPP’s Sharjeel Memon also admired the progress, terming it a historic and diplomatic success for Pakistan, highlighting the country’s growing influence and achievements on the global stage.
They said it is a major development that, according to Foreign Policy, Pakistan was able to attain an unprecedented degree of trust and direct access with Washington that even some of America’s closest allies have found difficult to achieve, reflecting strengthened diplomatic engagement and high-level cooperation under the current U.S. administration.

PFA DG extends Christmas greetings to Christian community

LAHORE, Dec 25 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Director General Asim Javed on Thursday extended warm Christmas greetings to the Christian community,saying that all Pakistanis,irrespective of faith,enjoy equal rights in the country.
The DG met Christian employees of the Punjab Food Authority, congratulated them on Christmas, and cut a cake to mark the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Asim Javed said that “we are Pakistanis first and then members of different communities,” adding that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had clearly stated that people of all religions in Pakistan are free to practice their faith.
He said that like the Christian community, followers of all religions are equal citizens of Pakistan and enjoy equal rights.
He added that the PFA firmly believes in providing equal rights and opportunities to all its Christian employees.
Highlighting food safety measures for Christmas celebrations, Asim Javed said that food stalls, bakeries, and sweet shops set up for Christmas were being regularly inspected.
He said special teams had been formed to ensure continuous monitoring of food points during Christmas.
The DG said that these inspection teams would work in three shifts to ensure the availability of safe and hygienic food, particularly as the demand for cakes and sweets increases during Christmas.
He assured that the Punjab Food Authority would ensure the supply of wholesome and quality food items to the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas.
He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in the sale of expired or substandard food items.

Commissioner extends Christmas greetings,honors Christian community

SARGODHGA, Dec 25 (APP):Sargodha Commissioner Jahanzeb Khan Awan on Thursday extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community during a ceremony at his office.
According to a spokesperson,speaking as the chief guest,he lauded the district administration for organizing a decorated event and highlighted the contributions of the Christian community,acknowledging their role in the creation of Pakistan and national progress.
He said,“All minorities in Pakistan have the full right to live according to their beliefs.We share in the joys of the Christian community on this festive occasion,”and paid tribute to Christian employees serving in government hospitals.
The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of Christian employees and notable figures.
Commissioner Jahanzeb Khan joined attendees in cutting a Christmas cake,symbolizing unity and celebration. Ulama and Christian scholars also addressed the gathering, stressing interfaith harmony and mutual respect.
The event concluded with prayers for peace,unity and prosperity,reflecting goodwill among diverse communities.
On the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s 149th birth anniversary,the commissioner said Pakistan was created as a homeland where people of all religions could live freely.

Progress on ongoing development projects in Dera reviewed

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 25 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir on Thursday paid a visit to several locations in the city to review ongoing development projects.
 Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Planning) and Assistant Commissioner accompanied him.
According to administration, during the visit to Commissionari Bazaar, the DC inspected efforts to remove encroachments, widen roads, improve the drainage system, and enhance the market’s overall appearance.
He met with local traders, listened to their concerns and issued immediate instructions to the relevant departments.
Traders were advised not to place their goods on roads or rights-of-way to avoid obstructing traffic.
He also reviewed the construction of the boundary wall at St. John’s Church.
It was informed that after the completion of the new wall, the old wall would be removed to clear the right-of-way for the old vegetable market flyover.
Moreover, he inspected the ongoing construction of the old vegetable market flyover, reviewed the quality of work and instructed the concerned departments to complete the project promptly and according to the required standards.
He said that every project would be completed on time and to the highest standards to ensure the development of the city and the convenience of its residents.

Punjab Minister Azma Bokhari congratulates nation on Quaid-i-Azam’s birth anniversary,extends Christmas greetings

According to official sources,the minister said that Pakistan was blessed with independence due to the inspiring leadership and political vision of Quaid-i-Azam.
She highlighted his guiding principles of faith,unity and discipline,calling them a beacon of light for the nation.
Azma Bokhari emphasized the importance of valuing Pakistan’s freedom and praised Punjab Chief Minister(CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif for striving to realize Quaid-i-Azam’s vision in practical terms.
The minister also extended warm Christmas greetings to Christian brothers and sisters worldwide.
She noted that the Punjab government provides equal opportunities and protection to minorities.
Highlighting a 42-foot Christmas tree at Liberty Chowk,she said it reflected the Chief Minister’s love and solidarity with the Christian community.
She added that,under the CM’s instructions,special arrangements for grand illumination and decorations had been made across the province for the first time.

Crackdown on electricity theft conducted in Tank

TANK, Dec 25 (APP):Under the leadership of Additional Assistant Commissioner Tank, Malik Sajid Ali Khan, a successful crackdown on electricity theft was conducted in Tank city on Thursday.
According to the administration, during the operation, several cases of meter tampering, direct connections, misuse of incorrect tariffs, and outstanding dues were discovered.
It added that illegal connections were immediately disconnected, and several meters were removed on the spot.
Moreover, it added that outstanding dues worth Rs127,000  were also recovered during the operation.
The Additional Assistant Commissioner appealed to the people to avoid illegal electricity connections and ensure timely payment of electricity bills.

Police deploys 2,000 personnel for Christmas security

SIALKOT, Dec 25 (APP):Police on Thursday have rolled out a comprehensive security plan to ensure the safety of citizens and maintain law and order during Christmas celebrations.
The plan was issued under the directives of District Police Officer(DPO) Faisal Shehzad.
According to a police spokesperson,nearly 2,000 officers and personnel have been deployed across the district. Security at 280 churches will be managed by six DSPs,27 inspectors,266 ASIs,1497 constables,63 lady constables,six Elite Force teams and volunteer staff.
More than 135 traffic police officers have been deployed to manage traffic, while special checkpoints have been set up at key locations.
Police personnel will also be stationed at public places,parks and Christian cemeteries with Elite Commandos and mobile patrol teams ensuring round-the-clock security.
Complete body checks will be conducted before entry into churches.
DPO Faisal Shehzad said all field officers would monitor and brief deployed personnel.
He added that every resource was being utilized to ensure foolproof security and emphasized that the police stand shoulder to shoulder with the Christian community during the festive occasion.

Commissioner inspects DHQ Hospital Muzaffargarh,reviews healthcare services

MUZAFFARGARH, Dec 25 (APP):Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Division,Ishaq Ahmad Chaudhry on Thursday visited DHQ Hospital Muzaffargarh on Thursday to assess healthcare facilities and administrative arrangements.
According to a spokesperson,during the visit, Medical Superintendent Dr.Naseer Ahmad briefed the Commissioner on patient load,availability of medicines and the functioning of different hospital departments.
The Commissioner inspected emergency,medical and surgical wards and interacted with patients to evaluate the services provided.
D.Naseer Ahmad assured him that essential medicines were available in sufficient quantities and that no shortages were being faced.
Ishaq Ahmad Chaudhry expressed satisfaction over the availability of medicines and smooth functioning of wards, calling it a reflection of improved hospital management.
He directed the administration to further enhance cleanliness,discipline and patient care,emphasizing that healthcare services should never be compromised.
The Commissioner also stressed the importance of timely treatment,courteous staff behaviour and uninterrupted medical supplies to ensure quality healthcare for the public.

Christmas prayer ceremony held at Senate Mary Christ Church
