Dera police hold mock drill to boost emergency response

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 27 (APP):The Dera police conducted a mock exercise at the Police Training School to strengthen preparedness for any emergency or untoward situation.
The drill, organized on the special instructions of District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmed Sahabzada, was attended by DSP Suburb Kashif Sattar, DSP Headquarters Sharifullah Khan, SHO Asghar Khan Wazir and other officers and personnel.
During the exercise, police teams practised swift and coordinated responses to multiple simulated emergency scenarios, showcasing strong discipline and professional competence.
DPO Sajjad Ahmed Sahabzada said the purpose of the mock drill was to further enhance the force’s capability, readiness and coordination so that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is ensured in all circumstances.

Student killed as tractor trolley crashes into school wall

MUZAFFARGARH, Nov 27 (APP):A nine-year-old student was killed in Sarai when a tractor trolley crashed into the boundary wall of the government high school, causing it to collapse, the Rescue 1122 officials said.
Deputy Commissioner Layyah Ameera Bedar took notice of the incident and sought an
immediate report from the relevant authorities.
The victim, Kamran, was buried under the debris after the wall gave way on impact.
The deputy commissioner directed the assistant commissioner to coordinate with the
headmaster and compile a detailed report on the incident.
She said that all those responsible would be held accountable, emphasizing that any negligence
in the wall’s construction would not be overlooked.
The tractor trolley driver, who was initially detained by the school administration, will also be
investigated for reckless driving.

BOUREWALA, Nov 27 (APP):A tractor trolley driver died after his vehicle rammed into the moving train near Adda Rasulpur.
The Rescue 1122 sources said the body was recovered from the canal
after a 17-hour search operation.
The accident occurred when the driver attempted to cross an ungated railway crossing
and failed to notice the approaching train. The collision pushed the trolley into the nearby
canal.
The deceased was identified as Wasim Hasan, 25, a resident of Bahria Town Lahore.

Pakistan, UAE reaffirm resolve to deepen strategic economic partnership

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27 (APP): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic economic partnership between the two countries across multiple sectors.
The commitment was made during the call on meeting of the new Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, Salem M. Salem AlBawab Al Zaabi with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb .
On the occasion, minister Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening its fraternal partnership with the UAE and acknowledged the UAE’s consistent support to Pakistan across multiple fronts, including trade, investment, remittances, government-to-government financing, and the UAE’s crucial backing in Pakistan’s engagements with international financial institutions.
He noted the frequent high-level interactions between the leadership of both countries as a testament to their close and enduring ties.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s economic policy direction was firmly oriented toward expanding trade and attracting long-term investment, moving beyond traditional support mechanisms.
He appreciated ongoing UAE investments in key sectors such as ports, digital banking, logistics, and infrastructure and encouraged further participation from UAE sovereign funds, private sector entities, and multinational corporations. He highlighted Pakistan’s significant potential in IT, AI, fintech, agriculture, minerals, logistics, and higher education collaboration.
Aurangzeb briefed the Ambassador on Pakistan’s improving macroeconomic indicators, including stable foreign exchange reserves, declining inflation, a stronger currency outlook, and increased remittances, particularly from the UAE. He highlighted that Pakistan is now moving toward a growth-focused agenda centred on private-sector-led and investment-driven expansion.
On the occasion, Ambassador Al Zaabi noted the deep historical linkages between the peoples of Pakistan and the UAE, highlighting the longstanding contributions of Pakistani professionals across sectors in the UAE, including banking, finance, defence, and public administration.
He underscored that strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in strategic, economic, and cultural dimensions, would be a key priority of his tenure.
Ambassador Al Zaabi informed the Minister that expanding economic cooperation remained one of his foremost objectives. He expressed the UAE’s strong interest in enhancing bilateral trade volumes, attracting Pakistani businesses and technology firms to the UAE, and bringing more UAE investors to Pakistan. He referenced ongoing engagement with companies in sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, mining, ports, financial services, and virtual assets.
The Ambassador also briefed the Minister on the UAE government’s major reforms in visa facilitation for Pakistani nationals, stating that nearly 500 visas are being processed daily and explained that new measures, including online visa processing, e-visas without passport stamping, and enhanced system-to-system linkages with relevant Pakistani authorities, are being implemented to further streamline travel for businesspersons and visitors. A dedicated UAE visa centre, newly opened in Pakistan, will also help expedite processing.
Senator Aurangzeb welcomed these developments, noting that smoother mobility is crucial for strengthening business-to-business exchanges, especially given the UAE’s position as a global hub for investment, trade shows, and technology exhibitions.
The meeting also touched upon ongoing defence cooperation, training exchanges, and historical military collaboration between the two countries with Ambassador Al Zaabi expressing strong commitment to further enhancing during his tenure.
Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to deepen cooperation across all areas of mutual interest, particularly trade, investment, finance, technology, defence, and people-to-people exchanges. They agreed to continue working closely to leverage the immense potential that exists between the two brotherly nations.

PHC bans unrelated political gathering in premises of Govt, educational institutions

PESHAWAR, Nov 27 (APP):The Peshawar High Court here Thursday imposed a ban on holding unrelated political gatherings within the premises of government and educational institutions.
This decision came in response to a petition claiming that organizing political gatherings in government and educational institutions not only violates the Constitution but also disrupts academic and official activities.
Justice Sahibzada Asad Ullah of the Peshawar High Court issued a five-page written judgment, which clearly states that political rallies, processions, and other unrelated gatherings will be prohibited within the premises of educational institutions, government locations, and other administrative departments.
 The judgment further states that responsibility for the use of these institutions lies with the concerned officials, who are obligated to prevent their political use by all possible means.
The court added in its decision that government institutions are established for specific purposes, and unrelated gatherings undermine the sanctity of these institutions.
Therefore, it is necessary to prevent such activities, and the officials must ensure that no unrelated gatherings are held on their premises.

District admin, TMA order transporters back to general bus stand after anti-encroachment drive

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 27 (APP):The district administration and Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Abbottabad have directed transporters to immediately bring their vehicles back to the General Bus Stand, warning that their route permits will be cancelled if they fail to comply.
The directive comes after Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Zarak Yar Khan Toru, accompanied by the TMO, district police, and enforcement teams, conducted an anti-encroachment operation at the General Bus Stand.
During the operation, 26 kanals of illegally occupied land were retrieved and handed over to TMA Abbottabad for proper management.
According to officials, the transfer of the bus stand’s complete management to the TMA aims to improve passenger facilities, ensure cleanliness, and enhance overall service quality.
The administration maintained that revenue generated from the bus stand had previously been going into the pockets of transporters while the TMA received only a nominal amount.
Following the eviction of illegal occupants, transporters staged a strike, causing significant inconvenience to passengers. The district administration has warned that vehicles previously operating on regular routes including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Haripur, Muzaffarabad, and other destinations must report back to the bus stand without delay or face immediate cancellation of their route permits.
New route numbers will be allotted to other vehicles in the public interest.

FIA clarifies: No passenger offloaded with complete, valid documents

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has urged citizens to beware of fake, misleading and fabricated social media posts regarding the offloading of passengers, calling them an attempt to create panic and damage the agency’s credibility.
An FIA official told APP on Thursday that certain elements are spreading incorrect information on social media about passengers being offloaded without reason, which is completely baseless.
He clarified that FIA does not offload any passenger whose travel documents are complete and whose purpose of travel is lawful, adding that passenger safety and transparency remain the agency’s top priorities.
The official highlighted that passengers should strictly avoid:
Travelling with fake or incomplete travel documents
Relying on illegal or unverified agents
Attempting to travel with inadmissible information or misleading details
Carrying unverified or suspicious documents
Travelling with invalid, expired, or illegal travel records
He urged citizens to always rely on verified information and ensure that all travel documents are complete, accurate and authenticated before travelling abroad.
He added that FIA closely monitors social media content and has identified accounts responsible for spreading misinformation. Action under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and FIA laws may be taken against those involved in circulating false claims.
The official advised passengers to contact the Deputy Director Immigration present at the airport or call the FIA helpline 1991 for any guidance or assistance regarding travel and immigration matters.

Pakistan, Bahrain to form teams for finance, commerce collaboration

MANAMA, Nov 27 (APP): Pakistan and Bahrain on Thursday decided to establish joint teams of relevant officials to chalk out a roadmap for future collaboration in the fields of finance, banking, commerce and economy.

The bilateral ties and cooperation were discussed in a meeting between Deputy Prime Minster and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Bahrain’s Minister for Finance and National Economy Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa here.

The meeting was held as a follow-up to the discussion between Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister and Deputy Supreme Commander of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The discussion between DPM Ishaq Dar and Shaikh Salman focused on enhancing cooperation in the finance sector.

Citing their significant progress in Fintech, Bahrain side offered to share its expertise with the Pakistani banking sector.

The two ministers also discussed avenues of cooperation between the central banks of the two brotherly countries.

ISLAMABAD, Nov 27 (APP):Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, held an important meeting with Bahrain’s Interior Minister, General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, during his visit to Manama on Thursday.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations, regional security, and matters of mutual interest in detail. Both interior ministers agreed to enhance cooperation in counter-narcotics efforts, strengthen the capacity of law enforcement agencies, and make intelligence sharing more effective.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by his Bahraini counterpart and appreciated Bahrain’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of security and stability.
He said the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain are built on strong foundations of mutual trust and respect, adding that close coordination between institutions of both countries is essential for peace and security in the region.

KP Govt releases expenditure report for devolopment of tourists sites

PESHAWAR, Nov 27 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has decided  to develop the tourist sites in the province, and released an expenditure report in this regard.
The development of 16 tourist sites in the province will cost more than 256 million rupees, says an offical statement here.
As many as 24.4 million rupees have been approved for Khushal Garh, 12 million rupees for the restoration of Chashma Jangal Khel, 17 million rupees for Bado Ziarat, and 15 million rupees for Bona Sharif in Kohat.
As many as 20 million rupees have been allocated for the D.I. Khan picnic point, 15 million rupees for Jamal Garhi Mardan, 17 million rupees for development work in Takht Bhai Mardan, 20 million rupees for Jabban Malakand, and 18 million rupees for Tota Kan Malakand.
Among the development works, 20 million rupees have been allocated for Bahrain Swat, 21 million rupees for Karakaar Buner, 18 million rupees for Kumrat, more than 20 million rupees for Garam Chashma Chitral, and more than 20 million rupees for Chitral Laspur.
Funds for the projects will be provided from the 2025–26 budget. Obtaining a No Duplication Certificate has been declared mandatory for these projects, and work will begin only after technical approval for the development of the tourist sites.
The projects are subject to technical evaluation according to the estimated cost.
