0
LAHORE, Jul 19 (APP):A grand rally was organized by Youth Forum for Kashmir Lahore to mark Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day, here on Saturday.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from people belonging to various political, social, and religious backgrounds, as well as members of civil society. The rally commenced from NADRA Office Egerton Road and concluded in front of the Lahore Press Club.
Participants carried banners and placards bearing pro-Kashmir slogans, voicing solidarity with the Kashmiri people and demanding an end to Indian occupation.
Addressing the rally, Chief Organizer of Youth Forum for Kashmir Lahore Tariq Khan Ghouri said that Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day is being observed not only in Pakistan but also by Kashmiris and supporters of the Kashmiri cause around the globe. He recalled that on July 19, 1947, the people of Jammu and Kashmir had passed a historic resolution in favor of accession to Pakistan, thereby linking their future with the Islamic Republic. “This day is a powerful reminder of the deep-rooted, natural bond between Kashmir and Pakistan,” he said. “The hearts of Kashmiris have always beaten in unison with Pakistan,
and their love for this country runs through their veins like blood.”
Tariq Ghouri said that India has utterly failed to suppress the Kashmiri people’s unwavering resolve through force. “Even after decades of brutal occupation, the Kashmiri people continue to await their UN-mandated right to self-determination,” he said.
He paid glowing tribute to the unyielding courage, sacrifices, and resilience of the oppressed people of Indian-Occupied Kashmir. Their struggle has become a global symbol of resistance, sacrifice, and the pursuit of freedom, he added.
He said Pakistan’s firm commitment to continue extending political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people on every platform. “We salute the unmatched sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters and pledge today to continue this just struggle until the final goal of freedom is achieved.”
Tariq Ghouri said that the day is not far when the Kashmiri people will be free to decide their own future, in accordance with their aspirations and international promises made to them.

Speakers urges Int’l community to address Kashmir issue for regional peace

ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP):Speakers urged the international community to resolve issue of Indian Occupied Jammu Kashmir (IIOJK) which was pending from the last several decades for the durable regional peace and development.
They were addressing at a conference here on Saturday “Memory of Accession to the Pakistan on July ”  which was organized by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Council.
The conference was attended by Fatehullah Miankhel MNA Member Kashmir Committee, Senator Dinesh Kumar, Javed Badhanavi Minister of Azad Kashmir Imtiaz Naseem, Farzana Yaqoob Former Minister of Azad Kashmir, Faizullah Firaq Spokesperson of Gilgit-Baltistan were also addressed to the conference.
Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and around the world are observing Accession to Pakistan Day today, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the ongoing struggle for freedom from Indian occupation and the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan.
Speakers said that on this day in 1947, the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, representing the true aspirations of the Kashmiri people, unanimously passed the historic resolution of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan. The meeting held at the residence of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan in the Aabi Guzar area of Srinagar, declared the state’s intention to join Pakistan based on shared religious, geographical, cultural, and economic ties, as well as the deep-rooted sentiments of millions of Kashmiri Muslims.
Senior leader All Parties Hurriyat Conference Muhammad Farooq Rahmani addressed to the participants of the conference and said that “When this resolution was passed on July 19, 1947, the Indian government had showed the unlike response and put pressure on Kashmiri leaders.
Kashmir was connected to India by using force, due to the use of force, the entire Kashmir could not be integrated with Pakistan, Not only this resolution but many resolutions were passed but International community are not taking these solution into serious.
Rehmani said that “We hope that truth will prevail and India Illegal occupation will end in occupied Kashmir”
Pakistan has to advocate for the rights of Kashmiris and Pakistan will succeed.
There can be no compromise on the right to self-determination and this is the final solution.
Abdullah Gul social activist said that the resolution of July 19, 1947, remains a powerful testament to the will of the Kashmiri people, who envisioned their future with Pakistan to safeguard their political, religious, and cultural identity—aware of the consequences of living under Hindu-dominated rule.
He emphasized that despite decades of brutal Indian repression, the aspiration of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan remains alive in the hearts of the Kashmiri people. He affirmed that the people of Kashmir remain steadfast in their commitment to the historic pledge made on July 19, 1947.
MNA Fatehullah Khan Miankhel said that the slogan of the revered pro-freedom leader, the martyred Syed Ali Gilani—“We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours”—has become the enduring identity of the Kashmiri people. India’s relentless oppression, he added, has failed to break the spirit of the Kashmiri people or diminish their love for Pakistan. Their struggle for freedom from Indian occupation and the realization of their rightful aspiration for accession to Pakistan continues with unwavering determination.
AJK Minister Imtiaz Naseem has appreciated the visit of Pakistani parliament delegation to different countries and highlighted the Kashmir issue and exposed the dirty face of Modi government.
She said that BJP regime has crossed all the limits and record for the violation of human rights in IIOJK.
Abdul Hameed lone said that citing the rise in intolerance, xenophobia, and the systematic persecution of religious minorities in India, he argued that the apprehensions the Kashmiris leadership had in 1947 about Hindu domination and cultural erasure were entirely justified.
“The revocation of Article 370, the introduction of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) have only reinforced those early fears,” he said.
He described the 19th July Resolution as a historic declaration that showcased the Kashmiri leadership’s resolve to protect the identity, culture, and political future of the region’s majority population.
“The resolution represented the will of nearly 80 percent of the state’s population and affirmed their inherent right to self-determination,” he stated.
Former Minister AJK Farzana Yaqoob said that underscored that the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle continues to draw strength from this foundational political statement.
“Despite decades of brutal repression, Kashmiris remain undefeated in their pursuit of freedom from Indian occupation,” she said.
Reiterating the resolve of the Kashmiri people, Farzana stated that nothing short of complete freedom would satisfy their aspirations.
She voiced optimism that the time was near when the “chapter of India’s imperial presence in Kashmir would come to an end,” and the people of the region would realize the dream their forefathers envisioned 78 years ago.

Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan rail project holds multi-dimensional strategic value: Prof Cheng

0
BEIJING, July 19 (APP):The construction of the railway connecting Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan holds multi-dimensional strategic value. It will not only reshape the regional geo-economic pattern but also provide a new path for connectivity between Central Asia and South Asia.
This railway will provide Central Asian countries with an independent passage directly to Pakistan’s Gwadar Port and Karachi Port. For instance, the transportation cost from Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, to Karachi, Pakistan, will be only half of that via Iran. This breakthrough will enable Central Asian countries to have greater autonomy in energy exports and the choice of trade routes.
These views were expressed by Prof. Cheng Xizhong, Senior Research Fellow at the Charhar Institute while commenting on the project on Saturday.
This railway will directly connect the Central Asian railway network with the South Asian railway network, thus, forming the Central Asia-South Asia Economic Corridor. Uzbekistan will strengthen its strategic cooperation with Pakistan through this railway, while Afghanistan, as an intermediary country, will enhance its geopolitical hub status.
He said that China will be deeply involved through the Belt and Road Initiative, and plans to connect the railway with the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to form a China-Central Asia-South Asia continental bridge.
After the railway is completed, the transportation time of goods from Central Asia to Pakistan will be shortened from 30 days to 15 days, and the cost will be reduced by 30% -35%. For example, Uzbekistan’s natural gas and mineral resources can be quickly transported to Gwadar Port by the railway and then exported to the Middle East and African markets. Afghanistan’s copper and iron resources can also be exported on a large scale through this railway, which is expected to drive an annual GDP growth of 2%.
This railway passes through cities such as Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul in Afghanistan, which will drive infrastructure and trade development along the route. Therefore, Afghanistan will be converted from a landlocked country to a land-linked hub by charging transit fees and developing a logistics hub economy.
The construction and operation of this railway will create a large number of job opportunities, alleviate poverty and social unrest. Historical experience shows that economic development can gradually eliminate the soil that breeds extremism, he added.
Prof Cheng said that the successful implementation of the railway project can enhance the independent development capabilities of Central and South Asian countries and reduce external intervention under the guise of security assistance.
This railway needs to cross the Hindu Kush Mountains, and construction of some sections will be as difficult as the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. China, with its experience in high-altitude railway construction, can provide key technical support such as tunnels and bridges.
Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and satellite positioning systems can be deployed along the railway to enable cargo tracking and intelligent scheduling. For example, Pakistan plans to build a digital logistics platform at the Gwadar Port, which will be connected to the railway data system to enhance supply chain transparency.
The strategic value of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway far exceeds the infrastructure itself. It is a crossroad of civilization connecting Central Asia and South Asia, and a catalyst for regional security and prosperity. By breaking through geopolitical barriers, unleashing economic potential and exporting technological standards, this project is expected to reshape the power map of the Eurasian continent. However, its successful implementation will rely on political mutual trust among the three countries, financial support from the international community, and effective management of security and environmental risks. If the challenges can be overcome, this railway will become another benchmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative, providing a new paradigm for the development of landlocked countries, he concluded.

President Trump says 5 jets were shot down in India-Pakistan conflict

By Iftikhar Ali
WASHINGTON, Jul 19 (APP): US President Donald Trump has said he believes up to five military aircraft were shot down during recent conflict between India and Pakistan that erupted following the Pahalgam attack in April.
Trump, who made his remarks at a dinner he hosted for some Republican U.S. lawmakers at the White House, did not specify which side’s jets he was referring to.
The U.S. leader said: “In fact, planes were being shot out of the air. Five, five, four or five, but I think five jets were shot down actually.”
The hostilities between the nuclear-armed neighbours followed an attack in April that New Delhi blamed — without any evidence — on Pakistan-based militants, a charge Islamabad firmly denies.
In retaliation, the Pakistan Air Force swung into action and shot down  five Indian fighter jets in aerial battles – including three advanced French-made Rafales.
While officially India has refused to confirm the loss of aircraft but when asked by a Bloomberg correspondent in June if Pakistan was accurate in its claim that upto “six Indian jets” were downed, India’s Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan responded, “what is important is why they went down,” appearing to confirm losses without specifying a number.
A ceasefire was reached on May 10.
Trump has repeatedly claimed credit for helping to bring about the truce, saying US pressure on both sides led to de-escalation.
However, India has publicly disagreed with that version of events, stating the ceasefire was achieved through direct communication between New Delhi and Islamabad, without third-party involvement.
In his remarks to Republican senators on Friday, Trump said: “You had India, Pakistan, that was going… in fact, planes were being shot out of the air…four or five. But I think five jets were shot down actually…that was getting worse and worse, wasn’t it?
“That was looking like it was going to go, these are two serious nuclear countries, and they were hitting each other,” he said.
“But India and Pakistan were going at it, and they were back and forth, and it was getting bigger and bigger. And we got it solved through trade. We said ‘You guys want to make a trade deal. We’re not making a trade deal if you’re going to be throwing around weapons and maybe nuclear weapons. Both very powerful nuclear states,” Trump said.
He said his administration achieved more in six months than almost any other administration could accomplish in eight years.
“Something I’m very proud of, we stopped a lot of wars, a lot of wars. And these were serious wars,” Trump said.
Since May 10, Trump has repeatedly asserted several times on various occasions that he “helped settle” the tensions between India and Pakistan and that he told the nuclear-armed South Asian neighbors that America will do a “lot of trade” with them if they stopped the conflict.
On June 18, President Trump hosted Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir for a lunch meeting at the White House.

Kashmir Accession: A day of indomitable resolve of Kashmiris to join Pakistan

0
PESHAWAR, Jul 19 (APP): Across Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, July 19 is observed with solemnity and fervor as Kashmir Accession Day, commemorating a landmark resolution passed in 1947 by the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference that called for the princely state’s accession to Pakistan.
The day holds profound emotional and political weight, especially in the backdrop of the over seven decade-old Kashmir conflict that remains unresolved due to the hegemony of India.
“On July 19, 1947, a month before the partition of British India, political leaders in the Muslim-majority region of Jammu and Kashmir gathered in Srinagar. The All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference had passed a historic resolution favoring Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan,” said Professor Dr Ejaz Khan, former Chairman International Relations Department at University of Peshawar.
He said the landmark resolution came amid India’s hegemonic designs, rising communal tensions, and debates over the future of princely states.
“Pakistan was seen by many Kashmiri Muslims as a natural home, due to cultural, religious, and geographic ties. However, history took a different turn and in October 1947, India had illegally landed its troops in Srinagar, sowing the seeds of one of the world’s most intractable disputes and starting of first Indo-Pak war on Kashmir.
Since then, India had broken all records of human rights abuses, extra judicial killings and state terrorism in IIOJ&K where life became a nightmare for oppressed Kashmiris.
“The unending repression, human rights’ abuses and organized Indian state terrorism that started from an illegal invasion at Srinagar on October 27, 1947 were further intensified after the fascist Modi Govt had unlawfully revoked the special status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jummu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on August 5, 2019” said Dr Ejaz Khan.
He said India went against several passed UN Security Council resolutions after abolishing the special status of IIOJK which was major dispute between Pakistan and India, saying it was the responsibility of UNSC members to grant rights of self-determination to the oppressed Kashmiris.
Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Vice Chairman, Jummu and Kashmir Peoples League told APP that July 19 was a historic day on this day Kashmiris passed a landmark resolution announcing to join Pakistan.
He said Kashmiris knew about about India’s oppression and cruelties designs against Kashmiris and therefore announced accession to Pakistan being a muslim country.
“After August 5, 2019 illegal actions, Indian occupation forces had killed innocent Kashmiris in fake encounters, put Kashmiri leadership behind bars, imposed clampdown on media and used human rights abuses as weapon of war,” he said.
Even the mass rituals and funeral of great Kashmiri leader, Syed Ali Gillani was not allowed and his body was forcefully snatched from the bereaved family and buried at night.
Similarly, great hurriat leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik was jailed for life in a fake case in a bid to silence his strong voice for Kashmir’s freedom and terrorize other Kashmir leadership.
Despite the brutal killing of freedom fighter Burhan Wani and others Kashmiris leadership in a fake encounter, he said India has failed to suppress the indigenous freedom movement in IIOJK.
The Kashmir leader claimed over six million illegal domicile certificates of IIOJK have been provided to Hindus in a bid to bring about demographic change there.
The gruesome violation of human rights including forced disappearance of over 8,000 innocent Kashmiris, 8,652 unmarked mass graves, imposition of longest curfew on some 10 million unarmed Kashmiris, extra judicial killings and human rights abuses especially against women and children have exposed India’s ugly secular face, he said.
The Kashmir leader while referring to the September 2021’s Pakistani dossier said about 8,652 unmarked graves were identified in 89 villages of six districts in the held valley while bodies of 37 Kashmiris burnt alive by Indian forces were beyond recognition.
Since 1989, he said over 96,000 cases of extra judicial killings, around 162,000 cases of arbitrary arrests and torture, over 25,000 pellet guns injuries, 11,250 women raped, 23,000 women widowed and over 108,000 children orphaned by the Indian army.
Mushtaq Ahmed said an excessive use of snipers and cluster ammunitions by India to target innocent Kashmiris along the Line of Control (LoC), use of children and women as human shields by Indian army during encounters and making them sleep at military camps forcing them to dig out minefields and tying youth on military jeeps further testified Modi government’s direct involvement in war crimes and genocide of Kashmiris.
Professor Dr AH Hilali, former Chairman Political Science Department, University of Peshawar said that the Kashmir Accession Day is powerful reminder of the Kashmiri people’s aspirations and their rightful demand to be part of Pakistan.
He said that strategic stability has been threatened by India as it continues to receive abundant supply of conventional and non conventional weapons that put the peace of South Asia at stake.
The unprecedented increase in India’s military budget and expenditures in recent years have characterized the global security landscape as grim.
“The Indian Govt has allways escaped from meaningful dialogue on Kashmir and never reciprocated positively to the Govt of Pakistan dialogue offer.”
Hussain Khateeb, member All Parties Hurriyat Conference (Gillani Group) said the burning of mosques, houses and shops belonging to Muslims at BJP-led Tripura state by Hindutvta groups of RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal has exposed Modi’s tyranny against minorities.
The mosques in Krishnagar, Dharmangar, Panisagar, Chandrapure were recently vandalized by the saffron-wearing youth in planned attacks on the Muslims population.
Former ambassador Manzoorul Haq said that the illegal occupation of Kashmir valley by India had negated multiple articles of the 30 fundamental human rights of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) drafted by representatives from all the regions of the world including India on December 10, 1948 that subsequently adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
“This declaration was applied to all the signatory members of the UN including India and restrained them from all kinds of abuses, exploitation, maltreatment and violence besides violation of any fundamental rights protected in UDHR”
Ambassador  Manzoor said India’s October 27, 1947 and August 5, 2019 illegal acts was a complete violation of international human rights laws including 4th Geneva Convention and UN Security Resolutions.
“Modi Govt went against several passed UN Security Council’s resolutions after revoking the IIOJK’s special status and it was responsibility of the international community including world powers to press the Hinduvata regime to immediately go back to pre August 5, 2019 status of IIOJK and give right of self determination to oppressed Kashmiris inevitable for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.”
The experts regretted the failure of UNSC in implementation of its resolutions on Kashmir, urging  international community to look beyond trade and business interests and step forward with collective action to stop genocide of oppressed Kashmiris besides pressurize Modi government to reverse all its illegal actions of August 5, 2019 and give right of self determination to them like that of East Taimur as per the UN Security Council’s Resolutions imperative for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
They said the road to peace in South Asia was passing through Kashmir and another war on this lingering issue would prove disastrous for the entire region and its negative repercussions would go beyond borders.
They said the freedom struggle in IIOJK has entered into an important phase and the day was near when people of the held valley would get freedom from Indian yoke.
Meanwhile in KP, Kashmir Accession Day is marked by public rallies, demonstrations and cultural events. Leaders from across the political spectrum reiterate Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri right to self-determination.
In KP, the streets and roads were decorated with Pakistani and Kashmiri flags, with public figures addressing large gatherings. In schools, students performed skits and sang patriotic songs. The media played archival footage, while op-eds revisited the unfulfilled promise of the 1947 Kashmir Accession Resolution.
As South Asia continues to grapple with political tensions and competing narratives, July 19 remains a date that reminds the world that Kashmir was an integral part of Pakistan and put pressure on India to grant right of self determination to them.
