PM pays tribute to police forces for killing nine Khawarij

ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Saturday paid tribute to the police forces for killing nine Khawarij in a security operation in Hangu.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of DPO Muhammad Khalid, who was injured in the operation.

Under the leadership of brave officers like Muhammad Khalid, the police and security forces will together completely eradicate terrorism from the country, he said adding, “The government and security forces are determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.”

CSS preparatory session launched for Sanghar youth under DC Sarah Javed’s Supervision

SANGHAR, Jul 19 (APP):A Central Superior Services (CSS) awareness and preparatory session was launched under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sanghar, Sarah Javed (PAS), to guide and inspire the district’s youth toward careers in civil services. The session was held at the Sanghar campus of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University and was attended by 141 students.
Addressing the gathering, DC Sarah Javed emphasized the immense potential of Sanghar’s students, stating, Our youth have extraordinary talent all they need is the right guidance and direction. This CSS session is a step toward unlocking that potential. She further urged students to focus particularly on improving their English language skills, calling it a fundamental step toward success in competitive exams.
Assistant Commissioner of Sinjhoro, Jaweria Ashraf, also spoke at the event, sharing her personal academic journey and CSS experience. She provided valuable tips and motivation for aspirants planning to take the prestigious examination.
The session was hosted by English Department students Aliza Dahri and Faiza Maqbool. From the university administration, Assistant Director Mansoor Waqas and Admin Manager Shabbir Kumbhar were also present and supported the session’s organization.
The initiative received enthusiastic praise from both students and their parents. Participants requested the continuation of such sessions in the future and also called for the establishment of a modern public library in Sanghar to help foster a competitive academic environment.

Pak team bags gold medal in Asian Volleyball C’ship

ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP):Pakistan team has created history by winning the gold medal in the 2nd Asian Men’s U-16 Volleyball Championship 2025.
Pakistan defeated powerhouse Iran by 3-2 (22-25, 21-25, 30-28, 25-21, 15-10) in a nail-biting 5-set thriller in the final at Nakhon Phanom, Thailand.
After being down 0-2, the Pakistani team showed unmatched resilience, making a phenomenal comeback to clinch the match and emerge as Champions of Asia, said a press release.
The match saw incredible contributions from top performers including Junaid, Faizan, Talha and Irfan.
Their combined spirit and fighting mentality led Pakistan to a historic victory over Asia’s volleyball giant, Iran.
With this victory, Pakistan finishes at the top of Asia – an unprecedented achievement in the history of Pakistan Volleyball.
The team not only secured the 1st Position but also qualified earlier for the FIVB U-17 World Championship 2026.

Police releases Rs. 2.7 mln for medical treatment of personnel, families

LAHORE, Jul 19 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has approved the release of an additional Rs. 2.7 million to support the medical treatment of police personnel and their families, reaffirming the department’s strong commitment to the health and welfare of its force.
According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, the financial assistance includes Rs. 500,000 for the medical treatment of the widow of late ASI Shahid Mahmood, who is suffering from a cardiac ailment, and Constable Muhammad Idrees, who requires surgery on his left leg.
ASIs Shakeel Ahmed, Zahid Mehmood, and Traffic Warden Azmat Ali have each been granted Rs. 200,000 for medical care. Similarly, ASI Muhammad Aslam and Constable Saeed Akbar have each received Rs. 150,000 to meet their medical needs.
In addition, Retired Assistant Director Liaqat Ali, Inspector Muhammad Riaz, Head Constable Muhammad Ahmad, and Constables Qaiser Bashir and Gul Zaman have each been provided Rs. 100,000 for treatment. Office Superintendent Abdul Hafeez, ASI Mechanic Javed Iqbal, and ASIs Muhammad Shakeel and Ijaz Ahmed have collectively been allotted Rs. 300,000 for medical expenses.
The disbursement was approved following scrutiny and recommendations by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police, under formal agreements with top healthcare institutions, is ensuring the provision of quality medical facilities to its personnel and their dependents. He added that the welfare of the police force remains a top priority and that all necessary steps will continue to be taken to support the health and well-being of those who serve.

Governor pays tribute to Forces for successful Operation in Hangu

PESHAWAR, Jul 19 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday paid rich tribute to the security forces for their successful operation against the “Fitna-e-Hindustan” terrorists in Hangu.
Commending their bravery, the Governor expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices made in the line of duty.
He directed the authorities to ensure the provision of best possible medical treatment to the injured, including Hangu DPO Khalid Khan, Lieutenant Colonel of the Thall Scouts, Bomb Disposal Squad official Asad, and others wounded during the operation.
Governor Kundi said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are proud of their security forces and stand united with them. He also offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured personnel.

President felicitates Under 16 volleyball team for victory in Asian Championship

PM congratulates Pakistan Air Force for winning awards at UK air show

ISLAMABAD, Jul 19 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Saturday congratulated Pakistan Air Force on winning awards at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) air show held in the United Kingdom.

He praised the professional skills of the leadership, pilots and technicians of the Pakistan Air Force for the excellent performance of the JF-17 Thunder Block C and C-130 of the Pakistan Air Force.

He said, “By the grace of Allah, the vision of the leadership of the Pakistan Air Force and the professional skills of the pilots and technicians are making Pakistan’s name shine all over the world.”

The Pakistan Air Force practically proved its mettle by shooting down six enemy aircraft in May 2025, he recalled.
He said the successes of the Pakistan Air Force were a reflection of the fact that the defence of Pakistan’s airspace was in strong hands.
The professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force will be exemplified for the world because of its excellent performance in the largest and longest air war of the 21st century, he added.

Muqam reiterates govt support for Kashmiris struggle for right of self-determination

PESHAWAR, Jul 19 (APP):Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engr Amir Muqam on Saturday reiterated strong support for the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination and the historic decision to accede to Pakistan.
In a special message on the occasion of day of accession to Pakistan, Amir Muqam highlighted the significance of the day, saying that 19th July 1947 was a decisive turning point in the history of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, when a unanimous resolution was passed to accede to Pakistan, based on religious, cultural, and geographical affiliations.
He said, “despite fighting three wars with India, Pakistan has always maintained its principled stance for a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.”
Amir Muqam strongly condemned the decades-long Indian military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a blatant violation of the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.
“India’s continued oppression and ongoing human rights violations have not weakened the spirit of the Kashmiri people, but rather strengthened their resolve to join Pakistan.”
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to continue providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their right to self-determination as per UNSC resolutions.
“On this historic day, we pay tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and assured them that Pakistan will never abandon their cause,” he added.

Roads blocked by landslides, floods restored

LAHORE, Jul 19 (APP):On the special directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, roads blocked due to landslides and flood-related damage have been promptly cleared and restored for traffic across the province.
Heavy machinery was immediately deployed to remove debris and open key routes disrupted by recent landslides. Restoration work was successfully completed on Pind Dadan Khan–Jhelum Road, Matta Khurd Road in the Kallar Kahar area, and Kallar Kahar–Chakwal Road, ensuring smooth traffic flow once again.
In addition, road surfaces damaged by torrential rains were quickly repaired. Cracks caused by the downpour were filled with soil to stabilize affected stretches. In Rawalpindi, the Crowley Dhok Bridge Road, which was temporarily closed due to rain-induced cracks, has now been reopened. Similarly, Dhok Parwana Road, which was washed out by floodwater, has also been repaired and made accessible.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif took direct oversight of the situation, receiving real-time updates and closely monitoring the progress of road clearance and rehabilitation efforts.
