0
ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman on Monday vehemently criticized Indian forces for silencing the voices of Kashmiris in the occupied valley, asserting that no amount of coercion can stifle their struggle for expression and rights.
In a message commemorating Kashmir Black Day, Sherry described it as a grim chapter in South Asia’s history.
She stated that on October 27, India unlawfully took control of a large portion of Kashmir, depriving its people of their right to self-determination.
Indian forces, she added, continue to coerce and suppress Kashmiris, a pattern that began on that day and persists to this day.
Senator Sherry Rehman stated that the UN Security Council has affirmed the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, but India persists in disregarding these resolutions by depriving Kashmiris of their basic rights.
Senator Sherry Rehman said peace and stability in South Asia are only possible through the peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
The Pakistan Peoples Party has consistently regarded the Kashmir cause as a matter of paramount importance.
She emphasized that the vision of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto continues to serve as an enduring beacon for the Kashmir issue, and the international advocacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for the same cause will forever be honored and remembered.
She emphasized that President Asif Ali Zardari is widely recognized for his consistent and impactful advocacy for the Kashmir cause on the international stage.
She further noted that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has powerfully articulated the Kashmir issue globally, reinforcing that it is not merely an internal affair of India.
She stated that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s effective global diplomacy has led to international attention on the Kashmir issue, including remarks from U.S. President Donald Trump.
She affirmed that the Pakistan Peoples Party is steadfast in its commitment to honoring the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and advocating for their cause on both national and international platforms.
Senator Sherry Rehman urged the international community to pressure India to end human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
