SCCI delegation meets MNA Syed Khursheed Shah

SUKKUR, Jun 09 (APP): A delegation from the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce (SCCI), led by President Muhammad Khalid Kakizai, met with senior politician and Member of the National Assembly, Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, at his residence on the third day of Eid.
The delegation included Vice President Malik Owais Rais and former President Aamir Ali Khan Ghori.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed several key issues, including the deteriorating law and order situation in Sukkur, the public’s grievances stemming from Suki Electricity Company’s (SEPCO) inefficient performance, and concerns related to environmental changes. The discussion also touched on the recently presented federal budget in the National Assembly.
The delegation and Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah exchanged views on the potential impacts of the budget and the challenges faced by the business community at the local level. Shah assured the delegation that he would raise these important issues at the national level and make every effort to find solutions to these problems.
The meeting highlighted the chamber’s efforts to engage with key stakeholders to address pressing issues affecting the business community and the general public in Sukkur.

Tarar grieved over death of mother of senior anchor Fariha Idrees

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday expressed deep grief over the death of the mother of senior anchor Fariha Idrees.
In a statement,  the minister expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Fariha Idrees and her family.
He said he was deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of Fariha Idrees’ mother Nighat Idrees.
The minister said the death of the mother was an irreparable loss and he shared the grief of the family equally.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.

Burglary accused arrested

SARGODHA, Jun 09 (APP): The Factory Area Police Station arrested a suspect involved in multiple burglary incidents here on Monday.
According to a press release issued by DPO office,Station House Officer Inspector Riaz Naeem, along with his team, apprehended the accused, Akbar Khan, and recovered stolen items worth thousands of rupees from his possession.
According to police sources, the recovered stolen property was handed over to its rightful owners after legal procedures.
On this occasion, the District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha Sohaib Ashraf reaffirmed the department’s commitment, stating, “Sargodha Police remains dedicated at all times to ensuring the safety of the lives and property of the citizens.”

Punjab Police commended for maintaining peace, security on Eid

LAHORE, Jun 09 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar lauded the police force for exemplary security arrangements during Eid-ul-Azha, ensuring a peaceful and safe environment across the province.
According to IGP Punjab, senior police officials including the capital city police officer (CCPO) Lahore, regional police officers (RPOs), district police officers (DPOs) and traffic officers remained actively present in the field throughout the Eid holidays.
He added that the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) played a key role in keeping Lahore and other cities clean and free of animal waste through efficient monitoring and surveillance systems.
“The combination of effective patrolling, continuous monitoring and integrated security measures contributed to a peaceful Eid-ul-Adha,” said Dr. Usman Anwar.
Law enforcement operations continued against individuals involved in illegal activities such as one-wheeling and aerial firing. A Punjab Police spokesperson reported that 32 offenders were arrested and 25 cases registered across the province for one-wheeling. Additionally, seven individuals involved in aerial firing were apprehended, with illegal weapons recovered and cases filed.
In separate actions, four suspects were arrested for instilling fear among citizens through public display of weapons, while seven others were taken into custody for violating the Loudspeaker Act, with legal proceedings initiated in each case.
Furthermore, 14 cases were registered against individuals collecting animal hides illegally during Eid-ul-Adha. Dr. Usman Anwar, lauded the police force for exemplary security arrangements during Eid-ul-Adha, ensuring a peaceful and safe environment across the province.

NDF , Iltizam Relief Society Malaysia Organize Joint meat Distribution for Flood-Hit Villages

NAWABSHAH, Jun 09 (APP): In a spirit of compassion and solidarity, the National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan, in collaboration with Iltizam Relief Society Malaysia, successfully conducted a large-scale Zabiha Qurbani event in Nawabshah.
A total of 5 cattle and 34 goats were sacrificed, and the fresh meat was distributed among deserving families in flood-affected villages across the region.
The Zabiha event was personally observed by Mr. Muhammad Shah, CEO of Iltizam Relief Society Malaysia, and Mr. Shahrul, Country Manager Pakistan. Both dignitaries appreciated the efforts of Mr. Tariq Hussain Channar, Program Manager at NDF Pakistan, and his dedicated team for organizing the event efficiently and with dignity.
“This Qurbani is not just a religious obligation but also a powerful act of service, made possible through the generous donations of the Muslim Ummah via the LaunchGood fundraising platform,” said Mr. Muhammad Shah. He further commended the long-standing partnership between Iltizam Relief Society and NDF Pakistan, highlighting joint efforts in areas such as food distribution, shelter, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and the rehabilitation of children with disabilities in Sindh province.
Mr. Tariq Hussain Channar emphasized that this annual Zabiha initiative is a regular tradition of both organizations to support families who cannot afford to perform Qurbani. “We are committed to reaching the most vulnerable households and ensuring they receive good quality fresh meat at their doorstep — with dignity, respect, and ease,” he said.
Iltizam Relief Society reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting NDF Pakistan in its humanitarian mission to uplift needy communities and empower persons with disabilities across Sindh.

SSP Shoaib reviews security at Daman-e-Koh, & Lake View Park

ISLAMABAD, Jun 9 (APP): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Muhammad Shoaib, visited Daman-e-Koh and Lake View Park on Monday to review the security arrangements put in place for the safety of citizens.
An official told APP that SSP Shoaib met with the on-duty officers and commended their efforts in maintaining a secure environment for families visiting the recreational spots. He issued instructions to the deployed officers to treat families with respect and courtesy.
SSP Shoaib said the Islamabad Police had launched a full-scale crackdown against reckless individuals, including one-wheelers and those involved in rowdy behavior, to ensure public safety at popular leisure sites.
SSP Shoaib said that providing a peaceful atmosphere to citizens was the department’s top priority and that no unruly individuals would be allowed entry into the parks.
SSP Shoaib said strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb public order, reaffirming the police’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across the capital.

DIG reviews security measures on 3rd Eid day

ISLAMABAD, Jun 9 (APP): Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Muhammad Jawad Tariq remained in the field on the Third day of Eid on Monday, inspecting security arrangements and meeting officers deployed at check posts and recreational spots to ensure the safety of citizens.
An official told APP that DIG Tariq reviewed the Eid security plan at key locations, emphasizing that all possible measures had been implemented under the special directions of the Islamabad Police leadership. He said strict compliance with the security plan was being ensured.
DIG Tariq said that officers standing in the scorching heat for the protection of citizens are the real heroes, deserving appreciation for their dedication.
He reiterated that there would be zero tolerance for one-wheeling and rowdy behavior, urging parents to closely monitor their children’s activities during the Eid holidays.
He said strict action would be taken against individuals involved in illegal acts or public nuisance.
The DIG further stated that entry of unruly individuals into family areas such as Daman-e-Koh and Lake View Park would not be permitted under any circumstances.
DIG Tariq said the Islamabad Police is tirelessly working around the clock for the safety and security of citizens.

Punjab police disburses Rs308m for welfare of police personnel children

LAHORE, Jun 09 (APP): Punjab Police has disbursed over Rs 308.4 million over the past two years for the treatment and rehabilitation of special needs children of serving police employees across various districts.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, as part of this initiative, Rs 71.7 million was allocated for cochlear implant surgeries of 41 children suffering from hearing impairments, 654 children diagnosed with cerebral palsy received Rs 10,000 monthly stipends, totaling over Rs 126.8 million, 161 children affected by thalassemia were provided with Rs 15,000 per month, amounting to Rs 52.78 million in medical support, Rs 10.2 million was spent on treatment of 162 children with various hearing disorders, 181 children battling serious illnesses were granted over Rs 36.8 million for their medical care: Rs 10 million was awarded as scholarships to 58 special needs students pursuing education. Additionally, 131 physically challenged children of police personnel were provided with wheelchairs.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that comprehensive steps are being taken for the treatment, rehabilitation and welfare of special needs children of police employees. “We are fully committed to making the lives of these children more dignified and easier through sustained welfare efforts,” said IG Punjab.

IG Rizvi visits homes of Police martyrs; honors families with Eid gifts

A public relations officer told APP on Monday that the visit was aimed at honouring the sacrifices of the brave officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty, ensuring peace and security for the citizens of the capital.
IG Rizvi said that police martyrs are a priceless asset to the nation, and it is due to their ultimate sacrifices that citizens are able to sleep peacefully.
IG Rizvi said that taking care of the families of martyrs in every possible way is among the top priorities of Islamabad Police.

CTO Zeeshan ensures smooth traffic on Eid

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP): Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider remained present on the city’s major thoroughfares and recreational points on the third day of Eid to review the traffic situation and ensure smooth vehicular movement.
An official told APP on Monday that over 300 Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) personnel were actively engaged in maintaining traffic flow across the city during the Eid holidays as part of a comprehensive strategy.
CTO Zeeshan issued further directives to improve the flow of traffic and appreciated the dedication of traffic personnel performing duties away from their families.
CTO Zeeshan ensures smooth traffic on Eid
CTO Zeeshan said that strict action was being taken against violators of traffic rules, including one-wheelers, rowdy bikers, and those riding motorcycles without silencers.
CTO Zeeshan said several motorcycles and vehicles had been impounded for serious violations, while a zero-tolerance policy was being implemented against illegal parking and disruptive behaviour on roads.
The CTO said no untoward incident had occurred due to effective planning and consistent efforts by traffic officers.
CTO Zeeshan said traffic remained smooth across the city despite the heavy Eid rush, with officers effectively managing congestion and controlling crowds at popular recreational locations.
CTO Zeeshan advised citizens visiting parks and entertainment venues to avoid parking on main roads and instead use designated parking spaces.
The CTO urged citizens to cooperate with traffic officers and report any complaints to the Islamabad Traffic Police Helpline 1915.
