ISLAMABAD, Mar 27 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Sunday said that terrorists had targeted his sons, daughters, brothers and sisters in Lahore and they would be taken to task at any cost. He said their hearts bleed on Lahore tragedy, adding terrorists were committing cowardly acts after facing their defeat. The Prime Minister was chairing a high level meeting at the PM House to review security situation in the aftermath of Lahore incident.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 27 (APP): Federal Minister for Climate Change, Zahid Hamid, stressed the need for exploiting massive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) potential for addressing country’s shrinking forest  cover through large-scale afforestation. “The country corporate sector should divert a significant chunk  of the CSR funds for re-invigorating country’s ailing forestry sector  to fight socio-economic impacts of global warming-induced climate  change,” he said. Chairing a high-level meeting on `Promoting Afforestation Campaign through CSR in Pakistan’ here on Sunday he said, CSR representatives of automobile, telecommunication, petroleum, banking, industry and top key provincial forest department officials attended the meeting.

ISLAMABAD, March 27 (APP): Minister for States and Frontier Region Lt. General (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch has said Pakistan will ensure security of  the bordering areas between Iran and Pakistan. Talking to Islami Republic News Agency (IRNA), he said  Pakistan could ensure desirable security for anything which had to  travel on ground between Iran and Pakistan.   “Iran is capable of taking care of problems at its end and we are capable of handling the problems on our side,” he added.

ISLAMABAD, March 27 (APP): Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said that the government has launched several power projects which on completion will help eliminate load-shedding.Talking to Pakistan Television (PTV), the minister said electricity generation would be increased to 18,000 megawatt by the end of this yea.He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, top priority was being given to the power sector to end darkness from the country as per the menifesto of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Iranian President's visit to set momentum for Pak-Iran future cooperation: Dar

ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP): Minister for Finance, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday said that the visit of Iranian President Dr Hassan Rouhani would set the momentum for Pak-Iran future cooperation. He was talking to Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli at a meeting here. Both the leaders agreed to augment economic and trade cooperation between Pakistan and Iran while also focusing on efforts to promote investment activities. Minister Dar and Minister Fazli are the co-chairs of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission (JEC). While welcoming the Iranian Interior Minister, the Finance Minister said that he was pleased to receive him on the sidelines of the visit by Iranian President.
