Report: Waqar blames Afridi for green-shirts consistent defeats

ISLAMABAD, April 28 (APP): Former head coach Waqar Younis has singled out Shahid Afridi for the side’s run of Twenty20 defeats against England, New Zealand, in the Asia Cup and World T20.

In the report on his two-year tenure as Pakistan coach, Waqar blamed Afridi’s poor form, captaincy and attitude for the national team’s recent poor run.

Waqar, in his report, had said that green-shirts lost to New Zealand and in Asia Cup and T20 World Cup due to poor captaincy. “Afridi was not performing with bat, ball or captaincy but I was not listened to.

Govt release Rs.234.850 for Commerce Division projects

ISLAMABAD, April 28 (APP): As many as Rs234.850 million has been released by the government for various development projects of Commerce Division under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2015-16.

Over all, Rs.875.622 million have been earmarked for the Commerce Division’s development projects during the current fiscal year out of their total estimated cost of Rs.3764.183 million.

According to break figures of the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, the government released Rs.210.514 million for purchase of equipment, furnishing, curriculum development and training of Pakistan School of Fashion Design Lahore.

Core issue of Jammu, Kashmir must be resolved in accordance with UN Resolutions: Sartaj Aziz

BEIJING, April 28 (APP): Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz Thursday said the core dispute of Jammu and Kashmir must be resolved in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the wishes of the Kashmiri people for durable peace and stability in South Asia.

Addressing the Fifth Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan remains fully committed to the objective of lasting peace, as part of the comprehensive dialogue on all issues.

Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan greatly values the role of CICA as a forum for interaction and confidence building to advance the cause of peace and security and development in Asia.

Reforms introduced for making Islamabad model city: Tariq Fazal

ISLAMABAD, April 28 (APP): Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Tariq Fazal Chaudhary Thursday said the government has introduced reforms in education and health sectors to make the federal capital a model city in accordance of Prime Minister’s vision.

He was talking to newsmen after inaugurating a hostel for lady doctors of Poly Clinic Hospital.

He said the preparations for extension project of Poly Clinic on Argentina Park land has been completed and the land has been acquired from Capital Development Authority (CDA) for this purpose.

Two LNG based power projects start producing 1200 MW electricity next year

ISLAMABAD, April 28 (APP): The Senate Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reforms was informed on Thursday that two Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) based power projects would start supplying 1200 MW electricity to national grid in next year.

Briefing the committee held here at Parliament House under Chairmanship of Col (Retd) Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi, a senior official of the Ministry of Water and Power said that the total capacity of the power projects being installed at Baloki and Haveli, Bhadurshah have been designed to produce 1200 MW each.

However, both the project would start producing 1200 MW electricity by  end of 2017.

Nisar takes notice of Khalid Shameem’s video recording

ISLAMABAD, Apr 28 (APP): Minister for Interior, Chaudhary
Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday took notice of video recording of Khalid
Shameem in Adiala Jail and sought report of the incident within two days.

He directed the concerned authorities to probe that who
accorded approval for such a video recording in the jail. He questioned where was jail administration at that time when video recording of Khalid Shamim, a suspect in Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Imran Farooq’s murder case, was made.

The minister directed the authorities concerned that it should
also be investigated whether jail administration assisted in making video recording.

PML N Govt to be installed in AJK within few weeks: Kirmani

BAGH (AJK), Apr 28 (APP): Advisor to Prime Minister on
Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani on Thursday said within a
few weeks, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz will form its government in Azad Kashmir after victory in upcoming Legislative Assembly elections.

Addressing the PML N Workers Convention here, Dr Asif
Kirmani said that first workers conventions was organised in
Bhimbher. Then similar conventions were held in Kotli, Mirpur, Palandri, Forward Kahuta, Dhirkot and now in Bagh, he added.

He said mammoth gathering of the people in the convention
was clear proof of PML N support in the AJK and added it would win a landslide victory in the elections.

Govt keen to address farmers issues on priority

SARGODHA, April 28 (APP): Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said the government would resolve all the basic problems of farmers on priority basis.

In a statement on Thursday,he said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had assured to address the farmers basic problems, especially of small farmers,on priority basis.

Ranjha said that PML-N government was in politics to serve the nation and bring about prosperity in the country,whereas it’s opponents were busy in false propaganda and agitational politics of “sit-ins”.

Pakistan among eight fast growing world economies: Ahsan

fast growing economies of the world due to structural reforms
introduced by the present government, Federal Minister
Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said on Thursday.

While addressing China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)
Investment Conference, held in Chinese Capital Beijing, he said that Pakistani nation is united on agenda of economic development.
He said that there is no threat of political instability
in the country.

He noted that CPEC is a historic opportunity, which
would have a far reaching impact on national economy.

Iran offers prospects for development projects: Iranian Envoy

KARACHI, April 28 (APP): Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan,
Mehdi Honardoost on Thursday said current situation is totally
different as compared to two years ago as now many European companies are working in Iran due to its huge potential.

He said this while addressing an interactive session
on “Pakistan Iran Relations in the New Millennium” at a hotel here.
He said that Iran has a lot of items for the development
works which can not be found any where else in terms of quality.

He said relations with Pakistan are very friendly and
time tested as both sides share similarities and commonalities in culture, languages and values.
